Toxic speech has consequences

And it’s no accident something like this happened in America after a season of gun-filled rhetoric from right-wing politicians. Sharron Angle called for “Second Amendment remedies.” Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) urged her constituents to be “armed and dangerous.” Jesse Kelly, Giffords’s Republican opponent in November, invited voters to shoot a fully automatic M16 with him in order to “Remove Gabrielle Giffords from Office.” And, of course, there was Sarah Palin’s disgusting crosshairs map.

Make no mistake about it. Words have consequences. This is one more case of anti-government hate rhetoric leading to violence against government officials. And the more we tolerate this kind of toxic talk from politicians and right-wing talk show hosts, the more of this senseless violence we’re going to see.

Republicans block assistance to people with no jobs

Republicans open the doors of the treasury for the wealthy and want to continue to give them tax breaks, tax cuts, privatize government jobs, etc etc so that the rich can get richer...But when someone is poor and needs basic assistance they start screaming....



If any Republican thinks that Grayson is harsh I think they will be in for a major shock when they meet Saint Peter....maybe they will be turned away and reincarnated into the poorest of the poor so they can reap what they have sown....now that would be spiritual justice.

Hatch Closed to Plight of Poor

Orin Hatch continues the long tradition of the Republican Party in championing the wealthy and the corporations. I can only guess Senator Hatch has no poor constituency, because on the Sunday after the burial of his good friend, Senator Ted Kennedy, instead of thinking of those without health care, he reiterated the need for the health insurance industry as it is, because it is 1/6Th of the United States economy, something, I'm sure he has helped to bring about in his time in the Senate. So, again, a Republican thinks "money" instead of thinking of those who suffer without adequate health care.
It is amazing to me that anyone who works for a living could stand with a politician such as Orin Hatch and the Republican Party.
It would help if we all remembered what Teddy Kennedy said back in 1968 in Alaska, because it is SO fitting today as it was then, "We have let the haters take the lead, and we are all paying for it."

When are these right wing extremists Republicans going to grow up and realize that ADULTS PREPARE for future occurrences. No one knows when a pandemic disease is going to happen. But we need to pay the necessary funding for a public health structure that can assist us in a variety of health problems and issues.

We need to pay taxes for good government programs--transportation, a social safety net, etc etc. One reason Germany was balking at contributing to a world stimulus package is because Germany has invested in a strong social safety net that will take care of it's citizens in times of financial crisis. They already have a sound infrastructure in place so they don't need to bail out rich powerful elitist bankers.

Michael Steele you need to realize that the American people voted to get rid of the mindset of reducing taxes for the rich, the powerful, and the large corporations as the end all be all answer to everything.

But keep on talking Michael. The people are turning their back on you and the media that continues to promote the corporate agenda of don't raise our taxes just give us our tax breaks and subsidy mindset.

Corporate Media Concentrates on Acorn

The Republican Party--RP--is trying to use the "Acorn Issue" to camouflage their vote purging and suppression strategies. After the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections no one should underestimate the RP's ability to steal your vote using electronic voting machines. In a West Virginia Republican county early voters report that the machine is switching their Obama votes to McCain.

The Corporate Media--CM--refuses to report the actual problems that will actually disenfranchise voters. The CM has focused its floodlights on Acorn, which is no threat to alter the voting results in this election.. Where is the reporting on the real threats that are being perpetrated by the RP in multiple instance across the country? Unfortunately we won't see the same corporate media focus on the real threats such as: the West Virginia vote switching,
the Michigan RP's plan to disenfranchise voters who have lost their homes to foreclosure, and the vote purging that is going on in many states? This remains a big problem in Ohio.
These are massive scale vote stealing, suppression strategies and yet the CM refuses to report these. The same Corporate Media consistently spreads the "liberal media myth" that many Americans still believe. Heaven forbid if we should see the incredibly powerful corporate entities that hide behind the CM's curtain.

I think it can only happen in today's Republican Socialist Party. The Republicans actually believe their candidate can be a "maverick" when his campaign is run by Bush-Rove Operatives?

Barack Obama and the Democratic Party are taking the Michigan Republican Party to court.

The Republican Party is using Mortgage Foreclosure Lists to try to keep people from voting. YIKES, If you are on a foreclosure list the Republicans want to keep you from voting. (I guess they figure that you might want to vote for change because of the deregulations that Republican Phil Gramm masterminded that has resulted in this mortgage crisis.)

Well it seems the Republican Party wants you to lose your right to vote right along with the loss of your home.
