Deer breaks fence in Portsmouth...and life goes on

We are on the long road to taking our country back....hopefully we celebrated some last night...I know I did. I couldn't go to sleep and kept checking the election returns...but now I'm short on time. I have to shower and dress to leave in an hour for a big community activist meet up tonight....

But life goes on....my dear friend called to say a large buck was spotted in her Portsmouth neighborhood....not only spotted but it broke her fence...so I went over to help her fix her fence b/c her dogs "have" to have their space. It's an old Portsmouth working class neighborhood...you probably know it...Park Manor...so we are all wondering where in the world that deer came from?

Approximately three decades ago, some bears were cut off from the dismal swamp and they lived for quite a while where Manor High School is located. No one believed the children in the neighborhood who spoke of "strange creatures" in the area. But when a Portsmouth police officer saw a momma bear and her cub in his next door naighbors yard the bear hunt was on. They caught 3-4 bears and transplanted them to the great Dismal Swamp.

Hopefully this "deer" Buck will have the same fate.

My big wish for the day is that Allen will take the advice he gave to Gore when Florida was "stolen"....just concede and let the nation move on. Well Webb did not "steal" the VA election...the dirty tricks that are being investigated have ties to Allen's staffers....(e pluribus media...the link can be found at Daily Kos).....

Amazing...the media knows that Montana's Senator has been declared a winner with 2,000 votes....so why is Webb with over 7 thousand votes?

Hopefully as soon as the canvassing is done Allen will spare Virginians the cost of a recount. But with what I know of Allen's character...it would be a BIG LEAP for Allen to concede gracefully. But on this point I do hope I'm wrong.

Hope all is well is your world....Buzz...Buzz...

Buzz...Buzz...VA is trying to turn blue...

And many of us living in VA are getting blue faces and red eyes from checking the VA state board election returns....

But it does look like Webb is going to get this by a squeaker.....the majority of the remaining precints are Webb Country....But this election is probably going to have to have a recount to make any results official...

So go ahead and celebrate Webb supporters....mis me a marguerita...it's time to start partying and maybe our eyes will "un-cross" while we continue to monitor thewe election returns.

Unfortunately, the 2nd district will continue to have to put up with the bought off, sold out Drake.

Thankfully I don't live in that district.

Allen's Staffers Assault a Virginian Citizen Asking Questions

Another Macaca Incident.

These look like the same Allen Staffers who have accompanied Allen on his Tidewater visits. Beware Folks....If you want to ask Allen a question if his staffers don't like the question you may end up assaulted.

George Allen told the press that stuff like this happens.....

This video on YouTube shows the assault...

As far as news in Virginia goes this definitely TRUMPS the Kerry story the media is hyping. So it will be intereting to see if Virginia's "lame stream press" will give this latest incident the coverage it deserves.

Thanks to Not Larry Sabato and Raising Kaine blogs for getting this out.

Sign Wars in Portsmouth, VA

I have lesbian friends who live peacefully in Portsmouth VA. They are both community activists. One of them walks daily in the park and has an organic garden in the front yard that the neighbors rave about.

Their Webb signs were stolen...AND a large 6 foot by 4 foot "swiftboat" vets for George sign was put up NEXT to their house on the city owned Railroad tracks.....They did the right thing...they called the city who got it down within two days.

They called last night upset b/c now the vet sign was back up AND 4 vote yes signs were placed in front of it.

This morning they called. It seems their neighbors got upset at the divisiveness in the neighborhood. The neighbors decided to take it upon themselves to take down the signs, save the city some money, and show their support for their neighbors.
Their neighbors are disgusted with the divisiveness and nastiness of the Allen people. These neighbors have decided they are now voting for Jim Webb.

My friends are feeling much better now. They figured the Allen contingent is stupid enough to keep putting that sign back up...AND more of their neighbors will end up defecting.

They now have two vote no signs in their yard and hope to have replacement Webb signs up tomorrow with another sign that says...they've been stealing our signs!!!

Lynn Cheney wrote a lesbian novel and then

she condems Jim Webb on the Wolf Blitzer show?

I think Cheney is jealous because Webb is a much better writer and he wins awards....

There is a copy of Sisters online in pdf format here But I'll warn you...it's not a great read.

If Folks have had it with negative campaign ads...

Then Allen does not stand a chance to be re-elected. He is currently the KING of Negative Campaign Ads.

But when you don't have a record to run on....It seems all Allen has got is money to run negative campaign ads.

Virginians deserve so much better than Allen. I hope they realize this and make it to the polls on November 7th to vote for Webb.

Webb and Allen at NAACP Update

I "hear" that Webb was very well received at the NAACP...and there was so much applause and cheering during his speech that they had to ask the audience to stop so Webb could finish his speech.

I also "hear" that the local press got it wrong. Webb is now a lifelong member of the NAACP...LOL...George Allen took out the "thirty dollar" member for one year. Allen is such a cretin!!

Anyway....the Allen camp is having a difficult time finding legal places to put their signs and they are going up in illegal public areas.

So report them as you see them people....Allen should not get away with all the rule breaking he likes to do. I guess he's practicing to be Bush's heir????

Baker will recommend Jim Webb's plan in Iraq

That's my prediction.

The commission led by James Baker and backed by President Bush will not "officially" announce it's recommendations until AFTER the election. Allegedly, they don't want their conclusions to affect Bush's presidency. However, the LA times reports that they are NOT recommending "stay the course."

The options they recommend sound like they came from our very own Jim Webb. Wow.,..soon George Bush is going to be pushing Webb's options....I guess everyone knows better than to plagiarize George Allen's work. Never pick anyone dumber than you to copy from.

Wouldn't it be best if we had Webb in the Senate rather than that rubber stamp George Allen? That rubber stamp that gets so much funding from the lobbyists for the elite special interests?

George Allen is either a liar and/or not very bright!

My bet is on both....but this sure shows what a bad liar George is.

This man should not be a Senator in any country for any citizen, IMO....

HOW TO WIN THE SIGN WARS

Attention Webb supporters--When the Webb sign is stolen don't just sit down and whine. MAKE A HOME MADE SIGN SAYING...THEY STOLE MY I SUPPORT JIM WEBB SIGN.

This will get the proper attention and expose the opposition for what they are. RICH AND CROOKED....

HEY G-E-O-R-G-E ALLEN.....

Yeah, that's right it's still your name....I was being respectful and so I wouldn't use one of those other names. Ahem....

George you say you want the campaigns and the press to focus on the issues. Right?

Why aren't you walking the talk? Why did you REFUSE to debate Jim Webb at the NAACP.

Are you showing your colors once again? Those CUT AND RUN colors?

You'd better change your mind and ACCEPT that invitation if you want anyone in Virginia to take you serioussly.

New Webb Ad

This Webb Ad answers Allen's spin with today's truth

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Loyalty is NOT always a virtue....

Misplaced loyalty is definitely NOT a virtue....

I'm an independent...I support Jim Webb.

I got to thinking what I would do if the "shoe" was on the other foot....If Jim Webb was guilty of racism and his behavior was finally catching up with him...what would I do?

Being independent, thinking for myself, and not willing to just go along to get along...I would have to renounce my support of Mr. Webb if that was the situation....

In fact, after contemplating Vivian Paige's writings I had some dialogues with friends and realized that the Webb campaign had failed to "activate" their base. I understand some folks are working to correct this situation.

So why does someone have blind loyalty? Why will they go down with someone who, if given the opportunity, would be the first to jump off the ship?

I'm creative but this is just blowing my mind....

So if you are a Republican and continue to support Allen....despite all the evidence....Why do you remain loyal?

If you are a Republican and have lost faith in George Allen...what do you do now?

I'm starting to believe that being the member of a political party in a two party system is not the best action for America in these times....I prefer to vote for the BEST candidate for the job.

In this VA Senate Race there's no longer a contest. Jim Webb is the best man for the job of representing Virginians and Americans in the Senate.

Who knows, if we get enough Jim Webb types elected, over time, we may be able to honestly call it the United States Senate once again.

In the meantime, how many Republicans will put party first and Virginia last?

POP GOES THE WEASEL

Is Al Queda trying to influence our elections once again? It's "interesting" how an Al Gueada tape surfaces once again during a crucial election year. It's almost like the neo cons and Al Gueda have the same playbook.

The CIA concluded that Al Queda wanted Bush to be re-elected in 2004. I guess Al Queda wants to reinforce the fear that the Republicans are trying to cram down our throats before this crucial election.

Well in VA I can't think of a better remedy for fear than Jim Webb. Better to have a warrior Senator than a dude ranch cowboy I say.

We need competence not incompetence, we need accountability not continued irresponsible and incompetent management of our nation, and we need answers to what has gotten us into this mess so we can steer a different more productive course.

All of us need to face our fears and think things through. Panic will only drive us down the same old path Rove and Bush have tried sending us down before. It's time for us to take responsibility and help steer our nation back to reason and reality.

Stand Brave and continue working to introduce the best option we have--Jim Webb--to our state's citizens and Get Out The Vote!

More Caca from Allen?

Senate man Senate man whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do when we come for you?

It will be interesting to see how Senator Allen votes during the September session. Will he continue to ignore his constituents and back the Corporate powers that be? Is he going to continue to dismantle net neutrality? If he votes for Senator Stevens telecommunications bill net neutrality is gonna die.

Senator Allen are you going to expand federal powers and limit states rights? Will you defy all 50 US state governors? Will you vote to put the National Guard under Bush’s incompetent leadership?

How about making the President a king and beholden to no law in the land? Are you going to back that bill that will grant immunity for all the President’s men who violated the Geneva Convention and international law. Are you going to back Spector’s new wiretapping bill that will immunize all the President’s men for their illegal mis-behaviors. Actions that did not make us safer, btw. However, they sure have given the Republican Corporation—ChoicePoint—lots of private information on Americans. Information that will be used in the future to continue to divide not unify our country. Information that can be used by the Republican party to dismantle democracy and enshrine a one party rule in this country.

If you continue your bushwhacked voting record…I remind you… November's judgement day is just around the corner.

Senate man Senate man whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do when we come for you?

It looks like George Allen disapoints consumers but is a favorite of corporate special interests. Why am I not surprised? Of course, George Allen loves to brag about how much money he has to run for office, courtesy of these wonderful corporate folks.

Allen is Running Away From His Constituents?

Mosquito was LOL reading on Daily Kos how Mike Stark, a UVA student, asked George Allen a pertinent question given Allen's history and his recent Macaca rant.

Stark asked The question, "Have you ever used the word nigger?"

Allen answered, "Oh, c'mon... sheesh..."

Stark also asked Allen to explain why he had a confederate flag and a noose hanging from the tree in his law office.

Allen's said, "Listen - just let me do this here, and then I'll answer your question about the flag and the noose."

Then his campaign staff had the hotel manager ask the law student to leave.

Allen then cancelled the rest of his day's events.

How is Allen going to campaign in Virginia if he won't answer questions from his constituents?

Allen is running all right....from his constituents. This is not a good sign.

Maybe we should collect footage from around the state of Allen avoiding his constituents. We could title it, "See Allen Run."
