Once again it’s nothing but LIES heaped upon LIES.

Fact—the MAJORITY of middle east foreign experts state that it would be a huge mistake for the United States to launch an illegal invasion on Iraq. You can find some of these experts here.

Up till now it’s been the neocons and their supporters are the ones with blood soaked hands. They have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s and thousands of American troops on their hands. If this Iran attack is launched there will be many more deaths piled on top of this and the terrorist attacks against the U.S. will increase not decrease.

However, IF the American public allows an illegal Iran invasion to take place the rest of the world will not make a distinction between the Bush Cabal and the American public. We no longer have the excuse that we did not know. Bush, Cheney, and the corporate media pundits fooled us to support an illegal invasion of Iraq….but if we are fooled “twice” by the exact same tactics then the rest of the world will see Americans as responsible for the actions of our government.

If you think America has problems now....an illegal invasion of Iran will make the Iraq invasion pale by comparison. (It would be like say, invading Rhode Island.) America will face more serious consequences if the madmen in the White House are allowed to continue this disastrous course to invade Iran. The Bush Cheney plan to invade Iran is a disaster. Fury will be unleashed on our poor troops in Iraq AND terrorist attacks against the U.S. will increase. There is no way that invading Iran will make a single American safer. (Though it will make the war profiteers and oil companies richer...once again at the expense of the American taxpayer.)

Reflections on Hurricane Season 2005, Part Two

Here is my second article generated by my recent tour of the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and Louisiana to inspect 2005 hurricane damage and what has been done in the aftermath. On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, two years after Katrina hit, President Bush toured New Orleans and Bay St. Louis to commemorate the occasion, but also to play up progress in rebuilding the Gulf Coast through the aegis of the federal government. This left me rather cold and cynical, because, having written these articles only several months ago, I know that the Feds, more often than not, have subverted and perverted progress, whether through privatization ideologies and cynical demographic calculations touted by Neocon/Neoliberal think-tanks, or through racism, corruption, cronyism and just pure ineptitude. As you read this entire series, you will understand better what I mean. Here, then, is the second article, originally written in late April:

As I continue my series about the Gulf Coast, we take a look at lingering hurricane destruction in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, a typical Gulf Coast city where much of the damage is really hidden from the casual tourist. You have to go off the beaten path, so to speak.

Last Friday morning, April 13, I started driving west through Gautier, Mississippi with the planned itinerary of hitting Ocean Springs, then Biloxi, and on into Louisiana and New Orleans as I continued to survey the state of reconstruction along the Gulf Coast after the horrific 2005 hurricane season. After reaching the city limits of Ocean Springs, I found myself slowly meandering south, stopping to take shots along Beachview Drive as I headed toward the nearby Gulf of Mexico, then wandering southwest along Lake Mars Avenue and Seacliff Boulevard, roughly paralleling the coastline as I went. Looking at my watch, it became obvious to me that, if I was going to do justice to New Orleans, which I definitely had to reach this same day, I would not have time to explore Biloxi too, so Biloxi, scene of the hurled-like-toothpicks floating casinos, is on the list for my next trip.

It also became apparent to me, as I drove, that in a lot of these towns and cities along the Gulf Coast, the casual observer or tourist is actually not going to see a lot of the hurricane damage simply because it is hidden from view. The layout of Ocean Springs itself interweaves between the coastline and the bayous, with much of the lingering damage obscured by treelines, swamps and winding roads. So you have to take the time to look, which I did in my own small way in. If I had spent the whole day exploring Ocean Springs and interviewing people, who knows what else I would have come across.

















Once off the beaten path, you begin to see the hidden damage.

Lots of families in the Bayou are living in FEMA trailers parked next to their destroyed homes, as they try to rebuild, those lucky enough, that is, to find the resources to rebuild. Others have simply had to abandon everything and move on.

The media has been reporting that the White House itself will write the Iraqi Progress Report that General Westmoreland, whoops, scratch that, General Petraeus is supposed to give. Reflections on Hurricane Season 2005

As we move into the heart of the 2007 hurricane season, what with monster Hurricane Dean making its way through the Caribbean and possibly headed for Texas, it would be instructive to know some of the lesser known facts about the last really traumatic season, 2005, so that we can learn from them before we get suckered by government agencies, private swindlers and media spin once again.

It just so happens that I was on the Gulf Coast twice recently, once for two weeks in April, and once for two weeks in May. I was working in Pascagoula, Mississipi, and used that as my base to explore the Gulf Coast from, all the way to New Orleans. I started taking a lot of pictures of Hurricane Katrina's massive damage and then decided to write a series of articles for OpEdNews.com, which morphed into five photo-essays. I also create five photo albums at Kodak's online photo gallery, creating an album to correlate with each photo essay. I figure I will now share all of this on Mosquito Blog now. I am going to start quietly with Pascagoula itself.

Along the Gulf coast, Post-Katrina, Part 1: Pascagoula

I've just returned from the Gulf Coast with several hundred photos of Pascagoula and Ocean Springs, Mississippi, as well as of New Orleans, particularly in the Lower Ninth Ward. If you think the Bush Administration is paying anything more than lip service to revitalizing the Gulf States, then think again. The only true priority in their minds is colonizing the Middle East. That is where all the badly needed funds for reconstruction are going, into the Pentagon cesspool, despite what officials say. Carpetbaggers, crooks, and inefficient bureaucrats are sucking up the rest of the available funds.

To let you see what's going on along the coast, I am going to invite you to view several photo albums of the reality down there, starting with Pascagoula's still rather scenic waterfront in this first article. Pascagoula wasn't hit anywhere near as hard as New Orleans, but it was still hammered. Ingalls shipyard, for example, was devastated. Much of the city is back on its feet, but there are still miles and miles to go, as you will see in this first photo album. And I think it's important that we know what the situation is from as many sources as possible, including my own.

What you see in just these four photos is a glimpse at the slow progress, when there is any at all, in rebuilding the Pascagoula waterfront. Rich and poor alike got hammered in this district, although only the rich are able to bring their wealth to bear to get some results. Most egregious are the shattered piers all along the several miles of waterfront, some 20 months after Katrina hit. and then there are scores of citizens living in oft toxic FEMA trailers, that is if they haven't been evicted yet.

Is Senator Harry Reid doing his job?

As Senate Majority leader, Senator Harry Reid has the ability to prevent President Bush from continuing to abuse his power during Senate recesses. Senator Reid can keep the Senate open by having a Senator show up at the Congress one day every one (or two weeks). Senator Reid did this during the last two week recess of Congress. Bush cannot do things like appoint John Bolton to the United Nations or appoint a new acting attorney general that will not have to have Senate approval.

We called Senator Webb's office this week and Senator Harry Reid's office this morning. We discovered that Senator Reid had not taken the necessary precautions to prevent Bush from once again using the vacation recess to do something like, appoint a new Attorney General that the Senate would not have to approve.

Trust me folks....you don't want Alberto Gonzalaz replaced by another "in" White House Counsel such as Cheney's notorious David Addington.

We fought for a democratic Congress so that the checks and balances would be restored.
Please don't fall down on the job Senator Harry Reid.

What the Bush Regime isn't telling you about Iraq...

There's an old saying....If you can't beat them join them. So Bush's new general has decided to stop fighting the insurgents and instead to become their partners. Bush is now having the US "joining the insurgents" in order to "switch" to the winning side in Iraq. But they are selling out the very Iraqi government they created and supported.

Some folks have no morals and no ethics and will do "anything" to come off as a winner. Who is ever going to want to ally with criminals like Bush and Cheney?

When will the corporate media allow journalists and reporters to do their jobs? The job starts with FACT CHECKING....The Republicans are dispersing a bunch of talking points that are FALSE...and the corporate media is once again becoming a fascist neo-con propaganda machine...simply reporting false accusations.

1--The White House wants the Democratic Congress labeled a "do nothing" Congress....FALSE...it's the Republican party who are putting the brakes on legislative activities. IF Congress does pass a decent bill King George is threatening to VETO.

2--The White House is reporting PROGRESS with the Bush Surge. FALSE--Insurgent attacks are higher now than they were pre-surge...and the Iraqi government has not met a single bench mark. The White House desperately wants the American people to think progress is being made so they can continue this war. The White House is already acting like the September deadline means nothing....They want another "new" deadline set for Spring. Once again the same old spin just to keep this war going on and on and on....while the American people continue to die and go heavier and heavier into death. And for what? So George Bush and Dick Cheney can save face and continue to collect war time profits for themselves and their cronies?

3--The White House is still itching to attack Iran so they continue to state that Iran is "meddling" in Iraq's affairs. This is partially true. However, they do not mention that the BIGGEST MEDDLER are Bush and Cheney's favorite Middle East nation--Saudi Arabia. The Saudi's are increasing their support (with manpower and material support) of the Sunni's....the very insurgents attacking our troops on a daily basis. In addition, the Bush White House has just discovered a Saudi bank and a Saudi family financing Al Qaeda...and they have decided to do nothing about it. Yet with the latest Bush executive order they will immediately confiscate an American citizen's property and cash assets if Bush thinks they are subverting the Iraqi war effort. And now Bush and Cheney want to sell the Saudi's more military hardware....military hardware that "could" make it's way into Iraq and be used against our troops. Heckuva job Bushie.

The corporate media has shown that all it will do is spread propaganda. The corporate media helped us get into this war with propaganda and they are going to continue the propaganda to keep us in this war....

Message to the Congress of the United States Regarding International Emergency Economic Powers Act

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.)(IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)(NEA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that, due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003, and expanded in Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003, and relied upon for additional steps taken in Executive Order 13350 of July 29, 2004, and Executive Order 13364 of November 29, 2004. I hereby order:

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

(i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or

(B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people;

(ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order; or

(iii) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.

(b) The prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section include, but are not limited to, (i) the making of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order, and (ii) the receipt of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services from any such person.

Sec. 2. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Sec. 3. For purposes of this order:

(a) the term "person" means an individual or entity;

(b) the term "entity" means a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization; and

(c) the term "United States person" means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 4. I hereby determine that the making of donations of the type specified in section 203(b)(2) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(2)) by, to, or for the benefit of, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order would seriously impair my ability to deal with the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, and I hereby prohibit such donations as provided by section 1 of this order.

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government, consistent with applicable law. Now that we know CNN understands the concept of fact checking....they did "fact check" Michael Moore's Sicko movie....Viola they only got two facts wrong in their report and CNN has now concluded that all the facts in the Sicko movie are correct.

So why doesn't CNN FACT CHECK the spin that the White House is spewing concerning the latest NIE--National Intelligence Evaluation--report? Things look bad in Iraq...but the White House is confusing the facts and this is confusing the average American citizen.

I bet the average American citizen does not know that al-Qaeda comprises only 2-5% of the opposition forces our soldiers are fighting in Iraq. And Bush, Cheney, et al do NOT want the average American to know that the MAJORITY of FOREIGN Fighters in Iraq fighting US soldiers are from Saudi Arabia, allegedly an American ally. In fact Saudi Arabia has done more to fight our soldiers than anyone else (and this includes Iran).

Personally I'm sick of the Bush/Cheney lies and the fact that they are getting richer and sacrificing nothing over this war.

When will the media report that VP Cheney made a 3,000 percent profit on his Halliburton stock options last year? In one year for every $1,000 Cheney invested he got a return of $3,000,000. No wonder Cheney is dead set on invading Iran.

When will the media get to work, stop broadcasting the White House propaganda and start doing some basic Fact Checking where it counts.....on people in power?

Senator Warner is doing a little movement on the public relations front but the bottom line is this--

Talk is Cheap! Senator Warner is continuing to vote along the Bush/Cheney party line and is not acting in a way to block this Bush Republican Filibuster. He is aiding the Bushites in not "exposing" the Senators who are preventing the American people's elected representatives from voting on the Iraq war.

The "principle" behind the Republican filibuster is to protect Bush so he can continue to steer the same incompetent course under the new name of the week.

I'll be glad for 2008 when we can replace another VA Senator with someone who will choose NOT to represent a few right wing extremist neo cons and will work to represent the best interests of their constituents..

Media Watch: Tucker Carlson has got it wrong again....

Why does the lamestream corporate media continue to allow pundits airtime who have proven themselves to be "wrong" and irrational again and again?

Yesterday, Tucker Carlson was arguing that Senator Vitter should be allowed "privacy" and not be questioned about "personal matters." Senator Vitter has positioned himself publicly as a defender of the sanctity of marriage and boasts that he co-wrote the Federal Marriage Amendment. According to Vitter, "This is a real outrage. The Hollywood left is redefining the most basic institution in human history, and our two U.S. senators won't do anything about it," he said in a statement on his campaign Web site. "We need a U.S. senator who will stand up for Louisiana values, not Massachusetts values." (Source)

Now we discover that Senator Vitter was a customer of the DC Madam and also is alleged to have been a supporter of prostitutes in Louisiana.

I say what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you are a politician who believes that sex between consenting adults is a private (not a governmental, legal matter) matter then I agree....your sex life should be "private." But if you are a politician who wants the government to police and judge the sex lives of it's citizens....then you're sex life should be held in the same public light and public standards that you advocate for others.

Now why is this concept so difficult for Tucker Carlson to understand...Instead, he wants to label progressives who are holding Senator Vitter to Vitter's "standards" hypocrites.

Well Carlson...what's good for the goose is good for the gander and it's only honest that Vitter's "sanctity of marriage standards" should apply to him.

It's no gay people who want to enjoy the sanctity of marriage who are destroying it. It's heterosexual hypocrites who need to clean up their own messy nests. And when "sanctity of marriage" public figures are caught under the wrong covers then it is NOT a private matter.

Some Refuse to Change

Some Fools just never learn....Is anyone else as "sick and tired" of the likes of Joseph Lieberman and Lindsay Graham....I swear I have to change the channel or else I'll puke!! (Except for the Jim Webb and Lindsay Graham encounter on Meet the Press...It's so nice to have a distinguished Senator instead of a puppet representing me. Too bad Tim Russert is a puppet himself. He can't bring himself to be a truth teller and say "occupation" instead of Bush's war word spin.

Did Sunday's Corporate Media....

For those of you still watching the Sunday morning "pundits." The same folks who have gotten it so wrong for so long and continue to get it wrong....They actually promoted going to war in Iraq without fact checking the Republican propaganda and asking the hard questions. Folks like Robert Novak, Wolf Blitzer, Chris Mathews, et al.....They are quick to jump on anyone who offers an alternative to the Bush and/or corporate plan. Most recently this could be evidenced by Wolf Blitzer and the CNN attack on Michael Moore.....the Michael Moore who fact checks his documentaries meticulously and offers us alternatives to explore and discuss.

If you are still watching the same pundits " who get it wrong but keep mouthing the corporate propaganda"....answer me this....Did anyone come as close to speaking the truth today as this stand up comic?

It's a sad day for journalism and the "free press" when the comediennes do a better job of reporting than the "corporate pundits....." Maybe if folks stop watching the propaganda pundits the corporate media (anxious to keep advertisers might actually hire some genuine, competent journalists to start giving us some accurate news reports for a change.

In the meantime, I suggest you watch independent journalists such as Amy Goodman on Democracy Now. You might also subscribe to DISH network ( NOT Rupert Murdoch's satellite company) where you will get access to two channels on the basic program...FSTV and LINKTV which has a number of sound news programs and good commentaries and documentaries. Democracy Now is available on the web as are some of the programs at FSTV and LINKTV.

Bush continues the nepotism in the face of public criticism of his Presidential performance . It makes sense if you are aware that Bush rules like he's a Saudi king and can not lead as a U.S. President!

In the latest appointment of nepotism, Bush is sending his nephew, George Prescott Bush, to be part of the U.S. delegation at the Pan American games, despite the total lack of experience and qualifications for such an endeavor. G. P. Bush has no diplomatic nor athletic experience. (Source)

Wouldn't my tax dollars be better spent sending a qualified American citizen who is an athlete to be part of this delegation? Why should a wealthy Bush relative get some free jet setting vacation at my expense?

Maybe Bush is trying to set his nephew up to get some "experience" on his resume since the Republican neo-cons see this nephew as "their" version of John F. Kennedy Jr. He's allegedly handsome and a "heart throb." (Source) (But he's no John Kennedy!)

So don't fall too fast for the wealth and the looks, young Republican women. It appears that George P. Bush has a police record. He broke into the window of the bedroom of a former girlfriend, argued with the girl's father, fled the scene, and then returned to run over the family's yard in his Ford Expedition. What makes this really "creepy" is this was no juvenile incident occurring during the high school years.....This occurred while George P. Bush was a Rice University student. It must be a Bush family tradition to teach the Bush children that they can get away with breaking the laws if they belong to the Bush Royal Family? (Source)

Better Late Than Never John Warner

John Warner exemplifies the extremes that better late than never can take. I'm still upset that he never fulfilled his promise to hold hearings on the torture policy.

But Warner is taking a baby step away from the President who thinks he's a King with the Warner- Lugar Iraq Amendment. Hopefully Warner will be able to influence Sen. Spector (R-PA) to join him....then maybe they can start to walk their own walk and lead this Republican party to a more moderate and conservative stance and lessen the right wing neo-con extremists' choke hold on our country.

Better yet....Take a giant step and support the troops by agreeing to co-sponsor the Webb Amendment Senator Warner. Maybe then you will receive enough feedback to realize you need to vote for a date to withdraw the troops so we can "heal" our military and prepare for a new commander-in-chief to launch an effective and competent war on terrorism that is based on truth not delusional lies....

The destruction of the innocent is like a curse, setting in motion the self-destruction of those men and their institutions who perpetuate these crimes. This is why the American military must clean house rapidly as well as protect and distance itself from the diseased degeneracy of the White House and its inhabitants who have led us to this horrific point in our history.

Senator Jim Webb supports net neutrality and Senator John Warner still has not told his constituents how he plans to represent them.....remember net neutrality is something that everyone's constituents (be they left, middle, or right on the political spectrum) wants protected. Contact Warner and ask him to respond to you in writing with his net neutrality position. Hopefully, you won't get a letter filled with telecommunications talking points.

Chris Mathews has been on the list of Media Watch Organization for numerous infractions over the years....

Now he's being exposed once again. Why does Chris Mathews continue to give Ann Coultier air time to spew hate speech with the latest example of suggesting that a terrorist should assassinate a democratic presidential contender.... (She should have been arrested and charged for this offense since she would have been arrested and charged if she had suggested someone should assassinate Bush or Cheney. The double standards of corporate America are mind boggling aren't they?)

So why does Chris Mathews give Ann Coultier air time? Chris Mathews has the same publisher as Ann Coultier. They are both connected with Random House. Coultier can't sell her nasty inaccurate books without air time. Maybe Chris Mathews needs to provide air time to various authors in order to get published.... Talk about a conflict of interest interfering with his news show. Now that is what you would call a WHOPPER of a coincidence.

Have you ever taken the time to read a Chris Mathews book? I tried once....trust me his books are not top of the line. I continue to wonder why Chris Mathews has a talk show he has been so wrong on so many issues and events over the last several years.

The pundits have been so wrong for so long I don't even bother to watch their nonsense and propaganda anymore. It's nice to have my Sunday mornings used for more fruitful pursuits.

Wake Up Hampton Roads is a great source of independent journalism covering local stories in the Hampton Roads Region. At this point in time, the star, executive producer, and writer are all one person, Alma Kessling. Already, Alma is already challenging the local TV news broadcast in the quality and content departments.

Alma has long been active in local politics and her focus is where she lives....Norfolk, Va. Alma is also an active member of Hampton Roads Independent Media Coalition. there are plans in the works to expand the "focus" on stories in other cities.

Finally, a news program that is willing to concentrate on something more than the latest murder, robbery, car accident, and actually "report" on what our elected representatives are doing and who they are doing it with........We need to know what bills are coming up and how they impact our lives....you better believe the corporate elites are on top of this information all the time...and if it favors a corporate elite...well your wallet just got skinnier...

The New York Times "admitted" that it's coverage on encouraging an Iraqi invasion was seriously flawed. However, the NYT is allowing one of the culprits of that period--Michael R. Gordon--to repeat the same erroneous process and beat the drums with lies to help Cheney and Bush have their dreams come true--invading Iran.

Seriously, if you are a subscriber to the New York Times you should cancel your subscription. If you are a journalist on tv news or print you should lamblast the New York Times for repeating the Iraq errors once again.

CNN joins Media Propaganda Campaign against Universal Health Care

CNN has repeated the lie that NO presidential candidate supports National Health Care for all. It's not difficult to predict that the corporate media will continue to spew news reports with a distinct corporate bias in favor of the insurance and pharmaceutical multinational corporations.

Have they no shame?

The issue of health care and how it fails ALL Americans (even those who "think" they are protected with their insurance policies) is getting ready to hit the national stage. This bipartisan issue has the potential to unite the American people and create a change that is long overdue in our health care system. Hopefully, this time Americans will act in their own best interests and INSIST that the candidate they choose to support will commit to solving our health care crisis once and for all.....with a national single payee system that covers everyone.

But the media and "our" public airwaves will continue to be used against us. After all, it is not illegal for corporate news to lie about the facts and spread propaganda.....It's time to stop watching corporate news that works against us.

CBS Evening News LIED ABOUT Michael Moore's Sicko

FAIR--Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting--reports that CBS evening news put it's own inaccurate spin on it's coverage of Sicko, Michael Moore's documentary on the atrocities inherent in America's health care system. I prefer to call this spin an outright lie...it's propaganda to protect it's advertisers--the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

CBS reported that Americans do not favor a single payee government run national health insurance system. The fact is that 64% of Americans want such a system and 60% of Americans are willing to pay higher taxes in order to obtain it.

CGS also reported that no presidential candidates are in support of a government run single payee national health insurance system. This is also FALSE. Democratic contender Dennis Kucinich is openly campaigning in support of a single payee system.

I believe CBS is more interested in catering to it's pharmaceutical and health insurance advertisers than accurately reporting the news in the public interest. There should be a law against corporate media intentionaly producing lies and propaganda and the law should insure that such mistakes are corrected.

In the meantime what can you do? Contact CBS...call them on their "spinning" the facts upside down and request that they quickly and prominently correct their false news coverage.

The cure is a national single payee insurance system....we have to wipe out corporate profit and greed from the equation to insure a system that will give all Americans Quality health care.

There is no reason to wait any longer.....Don't agree to support any candidate for any office until they have pledged to work and vote for a national single payee health insurance system so that ALL Americans can get health care that is of better quality than what we currently enjoy...Corporate greed has made our system the most expensive in the world....and yet our quality of care suffers....we are 37th in the world as far as quality of health care.

Don't let the corporate ad barrage that is coming continue to "hoodwink" you....it's in YOUR best interest to eliminate the corporate profiteers from our health care system.

Kudos to Dennis Kucinich for his stand on this important issue....If Kucinich ends up being the only candidate for sane health care....well he will end up with my vote...and I REFUSE to vote for any candidate who will not endorse this policy....

Cheney deserves the name "Tricky Dick." He profits from wars without the sacrifice. He's never served in our armed forces....because he had "better things to do."

We "hear" that Tricky Dick Cheney is giving all these profits to charity.
But his Haliburton stock has not been given to any charity.

I bet Tricky Dick Cheney is planning on giving the dividends from his stocks to charities during his vice presidential "reign." However, once he's out of office , the stock is in his name to do what he wishes...sell it and/or transfer some to his heirs....and the bulk of the profits is the stock itself....not the dividends.

It's no wonder that Tricky Dick wants to start a war with Iran ASAP....why stop with only a 3,000 percent profit for 2007 when there's much more money to be made? This war profiteering is a gravy train for the Republican corporate elitists....

When will we ever learn? They use misplaced patriotism for ill begotten gains.

There's so much illegal activity stemming from Tricky Dick's office....How can any self-respecting congressman vote against impeaching Tricky Dick? But corporate owned congressman will vote to protect Tricky Dick.

The question you need to ask....is my elected official self-respecting or corporate owned? That will be a key question for 2008 for both Democratic and Republican candidates....

Immigration laws should be tailored the way Senator Bernie Sanders suggested. IF a corporation in America is laying off American workers....then they cannot hire immigrants. d.....AND....the corporations should have to treat (and pay) all immigrants just like they would a natural born citizen. Seymour Hersch is one of the few real journalists working today. He brings more light onto the Abu Graib affair....Two Questions....is it possible with Gonzalez heading up the Department of Justice to see that Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz are taken to trial?....At the very least Rumsfeld should be held for perjury before Congress.....
After all...the important question there is that Bush nor Cheney did anything to stop the abuse....and they should have. They had the power to stop it and instead used their powers to allow torture to occurr....and it's probably still occurring in the CIA secret prisons and at "Gitmo."

America may be number one on the COST of health care but we are number 37 (ahead of Slovenia) in QUALITY of health care. There are four health care lobbyists for every congressman. That should give you a clue as to why we need to take the profit out of health care. Universal health care for EVERY American should have occurred long ago. Are the corporations going to succeed in diverting the Democratic party from doing what is right for America? How many more Americans must suffer and die before Universal health care becomes a reality in the United States?

Loyalty to Party VS. Loyalty to Self

Loyalty to party and loyalty to the status quo is wasting America’s potential greatness.

We have lost a great activist with a heart filled spirit. Cindy Sheehan has gone home to tend the wickedest wounding of all….wounds inflicted from people who were once allies. On top of that is the painful experience of knowing the majority of Americans show more interest in American Idol than on the senseless, murderous carnage our country is inflicting on the world. How many children will die before enough of us will cut off the boob tube and stand up with raised voices?

The Democrats continue to act spineless and amoral. Power and money has the potential to corrupt the Democratic party in the same way it corrupted the Republican party. The corporations are throwing money into the next election to buy off the party in power.... so America will continue to waste her wealth and resources on war machines, war munitions, and providing benefits to the wealthy.

Meanwhile more troops die and make continued sacrifices, American infrastructure grows weaker, our jobs are exported, millions of Americans die under the current profit motivated health industry....We voted for change and then we hear that Nancy Pelosi and Charlie Rangel have made a Deal with George Bush and the Neocons to push a secret, immoral Free Trade Agreement through Congress that will result in more lost American jobs.

What if anyone speaks out and protest the Democrats who sell us out? It looks like the party is trying the Republican strategy of attacking those speaking out with conscience instead of allowing the debate to occur. They've already attacked Cindy Sheehan and MoveOn.org. We don’t need Democrats to emulate the worst of the Republicans do we?

I’m an independent. I’ve volunteered and supported Democratic candidates but I am no longer willing to settle for the lesser of the two evils. I will support those who appear worthy of my support but if you sell me out don’t count on my continued support

This independent wants campaign finance reform, public airwaves that provide candidates the airtime for debates, dialogue and questions from the audience so the best (not the wealthiest and corrupt) candidates can come forth. I want instant run off voting so that I will have real choices when I vote in elections….and I demand electronic voting be abolished and the Justice Dept. enforce the voting rights laws so stealing the White House (2x) and Congressional seats will stop with Bush and Rove.

I still have hope and faith in a few Democrats…..Russ Feingold and Dennis Kucinich top my list. I retain hope that Jim Webb cannot be bought and that other newly elected Democrats will continue to represent their constituents as promised. (We should know by September where the Democrats in Congress stand.) I see that there are still a few good folks left in the Republican party….Ron Paul is talking sense…so the Republican party is trying to ban him from their debates. Olympia Snowe of Maine has fought against the telecommunications money to support web neutrality. I will continue to give credit where credit is due.

Blind allegiance to either party is not democratic. The party is here to serve the people NOT vice versa. It seems that too many Americans have lost sight of standing up for themselves, their families, and their friends.

I hope enough Democrats and Independents will stand firm and Publicly Demonstrate their Attitude--PDA--against the latest Democratic atrocity so that they will alter their course and not sell us out with that corrupt Fair Trade Agreement, or the COPE act, nor allow any more money to be wasted on the murderous illegal rampage that Bush started in Iraq. Unfortunately, the Democrats have left a solid opening for Cheney and his mischief makers to escalate the middle east crisis.

Recent Congressional testimony has provided the evidence that Gonzalez, Bush, Rove, and Cheney have most likely broken laws. It is now Congress's duty to hold these law breakers accountable. Independent investigations and impeachment hearings should already have begun. We need to demand that Congress uphold our Constitution and the rule of law. Everyone is to be held accountable....no one is above the law.

Let’s demand they start independent investigations and put impeach back on the table asap. The Democrats need to show us that they are not going to continue the corrupt status quo that the Republicans have brought to a fine art in the last decades…..

But the Democrats will have to prove themselves if they hope to sway independents…and if they don’t want to lose large numbers of Democrats…There are too many of us who are no longer willing to settle. If the Democratic party proves corrupt and not reformable we will create a new party and/or an alternative system. The corrupt system that is in place is taxation without representation. I won't allow my taxes to continue to be wasted on the military industrial complex and perks for the wealthy corporate elitists.
