Television for those who give a crap....

Wake Up Hampton Roads is a great source of independent journalism covering local stories in the Hampton Roads Region. At this point in time, the star, executive producer, and writer are all one person, Alma Kessling. Already, Alma is already challenging the local TV news broadcast in the quality and content departments.

Alma has long been active in local politics and her focus is where she lives....Norfolk, Va. Alma is also an active member of Hampton Roads Independent Media Coalition. there are plans in the works to expand the "focus" on stories in other cities.

Finally, a news program that is willing to concentrate on something more than the latest murder, robbery, car accident, and actually "report" on what our elected representatives are doing and who they are doing it with........We need to know what bills are coming up and how they impact our lives....you better believe the corporate elites are on top of this information all the time...and if it favors a corporate elite...well your wallet just got skinnier...

So check out Wake Up Hampton Roads.com....and then ask yourself why doesn't Cox TV allow this program on the "local" public channel that is supposed to be there for use by the community for community news.

I am associated with the progressive TV show in Northern Virginia "Mark Levine's Inside Scoop"... yes it is a nationally oriented show, but it also has a regional focus on several subjects just because it originates from the DC area and the lines between local, state and national are really blurred in NoVa..... We do use the Fairfax Public Access station for our show on Cox/Verizon/Comcast and now on the web as well..... for the times you want to catch some national perspective content without the distortion that having comercial sponsors requires, try going to http://video.Google.com and search on "Levine Inside Scoop".... I think you will find content that directly compliments your great efforts in Tidewater.... if you have any questions about our use of Public Access facilities feel free to contact my email - JimS at NoVa.org

Keep up the good work....
