Anti-War Heroes in D.C.
For What It's Worth
There's something happening here.
What it is ain't exactly clear.
There's a man with a gun over there,
Telling me I got to beware.
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down.
There's battle lines being drawn.
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong.
Young people speaking their minds,
Getting so much resistance from behind.
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down.
What a field day for the heat.
A thousand people in the street,
Singing songs and carrying signs,
Mostly say, “Hooray for our side.”
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down.
Paranoia strikes deep:
Into your life it will creep.
It starts when you're always afraid.
You step out of line, the man come and take you away.
Hopefully you'll be able to make the next big march in D.C....they really are something!! You might want to go early and visit your representatives on Friday....let them know this war has to stop AND support the impeachment of Bush and Cheney b/c it is the right thing to do, they definitely should be investigated and if the proof is there (which I'm sure it is) they should be Impeached. Congress needs to use the power it has to prevent any further mischief (such as another illegal invasion) from these two criminals.
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young one of the great treasures of the '60's!
Listen, open your eyes, and take action folks.
H/T to Anok for directing me to this video.

Very nice video. Good editing. I was actually at that march. Too bad that there was no sound. Many of those marchers were NOT supporting the troops...
Any marcher that got arrested was a marcher that left the permit area for the march. Since ANSWER spray painted the steps last time, the Capitol police were not allowing them to access that area. The cops did not care one whit about the "die in." When the cops did not respond to that, the protest leaders escalated. Great fun was had by all.
I respect PEACE marchers. Pacifism can be a respectable way of life. I do not respect marchers that support organizations hostile to the American way of life. Organizations like ANSWER and Code Pink. ANSWER is run by the WWP. And Code Pink sent money to the insurgency in Fallujah. Neither group supports the troops. Code Pink insulted the troops at Walter Reed. ANSWER is run by people that support a philosophy that has caused the deaths of over 100 million people.
March 15th, DC, Mosquito! I'm ready and waiting.....I wanna see millions of people out there screaming for peace and impeachment. You in?
Thanks for the hat tip, by the way.
ANOK--you have a nice website...young anarchists are an interesting group and I have always enjoyed spending time with Youse guys....I'm always impressed with how inclusive of everyone you guys are...live and let live....

I guess I'm your kind of demonstrator. Thanks for stating clearly why you opose code pink and answer....I realize that answer is controversial even among the lefties....but we go to support the march and what it stands for not the answer crowd....though with the way things are going for workers today I would think they need to create a party of their own AND strengthen their unions.
As far as Code Pink....I really like Medea. I believe that these women are willing to do what is necessary to get media attention on their quest to get US out of Iraq. The real culprit here is corporate media playing the gatekeeper and blocking access to the public square...so it puts Code Pink into the position of having to be brave enough to go way out in order to get the media attention...and unfortunately it often involves them being arrested.
I do know that the Iraq Veterans Against the War are okay with the Code Pink women and I haven't heard them express feeling disrespected by them btw....
But I can definitely respect your position and I can see your viewpoint. So brother cargosquid we aren't in entire agreement here but at least we can get exist peacefully together with our differences.
WOW...maybe one day we'll be the two setting an example for the bloggers that just love to attack and smear each other.....hopefully they will learn a more mature way to disagree....
I'm actually growing quite fond of you.
Buzz...Buzz...
Thanks Mosquito - both for the compliment, and for calling me young! Its like getting carded but on cyber space!
I think there is plenty of room for disagreement on blogs, I have found that on blogger at least - most regulars disagree all the time, but it's constructive. Thats why I stick around. Its the best. You should try over at myspace - holy hand-grenades Batman! Talk about smear-fests!
I have not been able to get into facebook....I'm still wondering why folks like that stuff so much....half the times facebook won't let me in...
buzz...buzz...
While we are diametrically opposed, apparently, that was a nice thing to say. Thank you.
See you March 15. I'll be one of those guys waving an American flag and yelling at you.
Nothing derogatory though.
See ya.
Hey CS,
I'll be there marching too...and I don't mind seeing other peaceful folks like you around even if you are on the other side...usually when there's a right wing march we just leave you guys alone to do your thing and watch it on the news...
but I do counter demonstrate when it's the KKK....r another one of those hate groups....
Hopefully, folks like you will work to keep the bullies on your side neutralized...I had a friend who was "roughed up" by one of the counter demonstrator bullies last year....they physically assaulted her...
take care and see ya around....Star
CS, is it true that the march was pushed back to April?
That would actually be better for me......more time to prepare (I need babysitters, money, yadda yadda...)
But I'll tell ya what, I'll wave my black flag, you wave the American flag, and when all is said and done we can trade pictures.....LOL!
Star, I have known several people who have been assaulted by counter protesters over the last year....but it seems that some of them have learned a valuable lesson recently - they lost their permit to protest because of violence and instigation.
