Everything by the Book? The Torture Police in Action

Woman is stripped naked and abused by Start County Sheriff Dept. http://www.sheriff.co.stark.oh.us/ Email the sheriff at strkshrf@raex.com (copy/paste this in your own email-the Blog link won't work) to let them know how you feel.

I pulled this video from an article by Mark A. Goldman entitled "Guantanamo Comes to Main Street U.S.A." Click here to read it.

Welcome to Bush Amerika. Seven years of corroded ethics and a festering culture of international sadism and mass murder by our benighted government have slowly but surely transformed our country into a budding Fascist police state. I started telling people five years ago that this new Right-wing pseudo religion of sadism masquerading as the "War on Terror" will come home to roost. We know that the police in this country have often tortured and abused minorities in manners similar to what is shown on this video, but now their perversity is being directed at white, middle class men and women. This America is becoming increasingly grotesque to its own citizens, not to mention the rest of the world.

We are a country going to Hell in a handbasket. We have lost any connection to the Divine collectively through our actions, and are descending deeper into the Pit weekly. This is the way things went in Nazi Germany, Stalin Russia, Pinochet Chile, to name a few odious examples. Stand up now, speak out and fight back, or risk seeing yourself or your loved ones in a position similar to that of the woman in the video one of these days.

Reminds me of the horror tales that were once released about what occurred in the Chicago jail when a police officer or a deputy raped an inmate with a broomstick.

Police officers do have a tough job. That is why ALL communities must insist on great training for officers and ACCOUNTABILITY.

We give alot of "power" to police officers to "keep the peace." Unfortunately, the "militaristic" aspects of our country's dark side has started to infiltrate our police "peace keepers" so we now have swat teams in military uniforms who are overused even on what would have been "routine" arrests in the past. Bush even wants the police and military to practice rounding up large numbers of civilians together so soldiers can get into the act. The Bush/Cheney Cabal wants U.S. citizens to get used to our soldiers doing maneuvers in our cities....which is the last thing I want to see happening in this so called land of the free...Those kind of "maneuvers" were routine in the old Soviet Union and in China...It is not something that any freedom loving American should tolerate.

Nice pick up Mac....buzz...buzz...

The American government is abrogating its contract with its citizens daily now. We are going to have decide whom we owe our allegiance to, a corrupt and degenerate state, or to our own families and friends.

We are raised to worship the police with an endless plethora of adulating cops and detective TV shows from the age one, while the reality is often far different, one of jaded instincts and gross corruption. And now they have tasers to torment citizens with, and kill them.

This emotional plague infecting police officers and deputies continues. Read this AP story:

Fla. Deputies Suspended After Purposely Tipping Quadriplegic Man Out of Chair

Four Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies have been suspended after purposely tipping a quadriplegic man out of his wheelchair at a jail, authorities said Tuesday.

Orient Road Jail surveillance footage from Jan. 29 shows veteran deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, dumping Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair and searching him on the floor after he was brought in on a warrant after a traffic violation.

Sterner said when he was taken into a booking room and told to stand up, Jones grew agitated when he told her that he could not.

"She was irked that I wasn't complying to what she was telling me to do," he told The Tampa Tribune. "It didn't register with her that she was asking me to do something I can't do."

Jones has been suspended without pay, and Sgt. Gary Hinson, 51, Cpl. Steven Dickey, 45 and Cpl. Decondra Williams, 36 have also been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

"The actions are indefensible at every level," Chief Deputy Jose Docobo said. "Based on what I saw, anything short of dismissal would be inappropriate."

He said the officers' actions were an aberration.

A woman who answered Jones' telephone said Jones was unavailable. A message left at a telephone number listed for a Steven Dickey in Tampa was not immediately returned Tuesday night. Listings for Hinson and Williams could not be located.

"That none of the supervisors acted upon what they saw is of great concern," Docobo said. "This is not the norm at the sheriff's office."

Sterner was arrested at his Riverview home and taken to the jail Jan. 29 on a charge of fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, according to records. He posted $2,000 bond and was released Feb 3.

A warrant for Sterner's arrest was issued after an Oct. 25 incident, in which Tampa police stopped him in Ybor City. He was stopped while driving a Mini Cooper that had been fitted with hand pedals and was cited for blocking an intersection.

"My client was stopped that night and was given a traffic citation, so how could he be fleeing and eluding?" Sterner's lawyer John Trevena said. "We're very skeptical about the basis for the charge itself."

Trevena said he hopes authorities investigate the deputies for criminal charges. He said he was "mortified" when he watched the footage.

"I couldn't believe that a detention deputy would be so callous toward an individual, whether they were disabled or not," he said.

On Sterner's MySpace page, the 32-year-old cites interests that include wheelchair rugby, yoga, art shows and documentaries.
