Rev. Jeremiah Wright vs the Sound Bites

When all of a sudden soundbites from the past sermons of Barack Obama's pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, began to surface, it took me five minutes to figure out what was going on, an emotionally-charged character assassination of Rev. Wright meant to torpedo Barack Obama's candidacy. The basic strategy is to paint Wright as a hate-America, Black-Muslim type ideological extremist and to damage Obama with the old guilt through association routine.

But is Rev. Wright this one-dimensional stereotype? Does he warrant all these tempests of abuse across America? You be the judge, because here is Rev. Wright in the raw in last Friday evening's hour-long interview (April 25) with Bill Moyers on PBS, complete with transcript:

The character assassination continues. I listened to that idiot Dan Abrams this evening on MSNBC, who had two people on to opine about how very terrible Wright is for some of his more peculiar notions such as the government being the originator of the AIDS virus (he's a bright man and needs to let go of this type of nonsense); however, as I watched him at the Press Club speech and questioning, and listened to him on Moyers, I really didn't see what the big deal is about him. He's a little eccentric, but a very bright, articulate, and truth-speaking man. He's telling Americans a lot of truths they don't want to hear, and I don't see any sign of racism or hatred in him.

Catzmaw....Folks have to travel the less beaten paths to come to the various truths that "their" particular government will suppress on a daily basis.

Rev. Wright is one of those folks who values truth, searches for truth, and then bravely speaks it. Repressed truth ofte sounds "outlandish."

"Truth is......none of us is "always" "correct" in our truth management but hopefully most of us will continue to do our best to speak the truth and not distort this precious rare asset for personal gains.....
