The truth about South Ossetia War, Georgia attack

Listen carefully to what this Russian citizen, who has been living in America for the last ten years, is telling you, the American people, about what really happened in Georgia and South Ossetia. He has seen the American media reports, but he just happens to be in Russia now, and watched the Georgian attack unfold over there, so he is able to say that much of the American media, especially CNN, is lying to you about Russia.

I an astounded by the arrogance of the corporate media and corporate McCain. I believe they are seriously underestimating the American people.

Everyone else in the world understands that Russia is defending against the Georgia offensive...Georgia is the "illegal invader" who started all of this and started killing innocent civilians....McCain and his Georgian lobbyist are "playing" US.

Thanks for posting this Mac...

Meanwhile the corporations continue to make a fortune off of campaign tv advertising...the American people are so sick of the lies.

Truth about war in Ossetia that is overlooked by BBC and CNN

At 7 p.m. on August 8, the day when Olympics started, worldwide community heard from CNN and BBC news that Russian tanks invaded Georgia and that Russia started war with Georgia.

That the war had begun 16 hours earlier by Georgian president Sukashvili’s order these media preferred to pass over in silence.

But you have the right to know truth. That’s how this really happened:

According to old tradition of Olympic Games’ eve everyone was looking for peace and quiet. On August 7, Georgian and South Ossetian officials agreed to observe a ceasefire and hold debates in attempt to solve their long-term conflict peacefully.

August 8, 00:06
Just hours later, six minutes past midnight on August 8, inhabitants of Ossetian capital Tskhinvali, peacefully sleeping in their beds, heard dreadful whizz of incoming rockets. The hell followed soon... Without any declaration Georgian forces launched massive shelling of Tskhinvali with all available means, including heavy artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems GRAD. In this massacre, in just several hours, the whole city was ruined: 2,000 human lives wasted and 85% of all buildings demolished. Georgian military expedition, called “Clean field”, yielded its first fruits…

August 8, 03:00
Georgian army occupied five Ossetian villages, burning them to ashes.

August 8, 03:30
Georgian tanks started attack on Tskhinvali. Ossetian militia stood up to the enemy but could not keep back 30-times outnumbering Georgian forces. Many basements where Ossetins tried to escape shelling were showered with grenades. At the very same time, Georgian “peacekeepers”, serving in South Ossetia, launched unexampled attack on their yesterday’s colleagues, Russian peacekeepers, managing to kill at least 10 of them.

August 8, 04:33
Russia called for UN Security Council meeting to put a stop to Georgian military aggression and seize fire. No decision was delivered at neither this nor several following meetings.

August 8, 09:00
Russian Prime Minister Putin informed President Bush that Georgia launched war against Ossetia. Mr. Bush answered that “nobody wanted this war”.

Ossetia was praying for help. It was already obvious that “clean field” meant nothing else but ethnical cleansing. In these circumstances, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced that Russia would defend Russian citizens who constitute 90% of South Ossetia population.

August 8, 16:00
Russian forces overstepped mountain pass and made their way toward perishing Ossetins. That was exactly the moment when CNN and BBC finally “noticed” the war and broadcasted their «Russians invaded Georgia» scenes. Sukashvili announced that Russia invaded Georgia and held back that he started this horrible bloodshed himself.

Before midnight, Russian and Ossetian forces kicked aggressors out of Ossetian capital. Survived citizens started to leave basements to escape the city. In the next couple days around 30,000 refugees fled to Russia.

Failed Georgian assault turned to informational blackout and devilish propaganda. It’s time when so much depends on your personal position! I believe that there will be journalists who can give objective picture of these events. I believe in people of peace who will regard an attempt of massive extermination of small nation as genocide (3% of South Ossetins and 0.3% of all Ossetins worldwide were killed in just one night on August 8; fascists have never achieved that efficiency in exterminating Jewish people even when Auschwitz and Treblinka were working at full capacity). I believe in a world community that will view Sukashvili’s inhuman orders as war crime and an outrage on humanity. I believe in you, thinking person, able to confront with facts, person who will not follow barefaced propaganda of politicized and deeply corrupt media, person able to recognize truth!

For Russia that has occured in South Ossetia on August, 8th when Georgia has attacked Ossetia, the same, that for the USA towers-twins on September, 11th. Quantity of victims respective. Saakashvili the rockets has killed more than 1500 peace inhabitants, and CITIZENS of the Russian Federation! That I see now is there would be the same as though after tragedy on September, 11th 2001, any country has supported Аль-Каиду and in support Ben Ladanu has sent 18 military ships in the help to terrorists. Be on a place of the Russian Federation the USA, for a long time Saakashvili would be hung up. And the USA supported all this time " Caucasian Ben Ladana ".

I.e. that now I see me in mass-media of the Europe horrifies - Russia has attacked small Georgia... That would be if Russian tanks have not entered into Ossetia, that, not having protected the peace population, probably, defenders of human rights does not interest any more, only as Russian kill everything, bears fat... Well it in fact, you see, is immoral also it so awfully. Has still seen a photo with the signature " Russian attack to Georgia " - why do not publish a photo as the Georgian militarians have alive burnt the house with children and old men about whom Putin and as they killed peacemakers spoke.

Georgia has attacked Ossetia, instead of the Russian Federation to Georgia - in mass-media is even huge quantity links to references of the European editions which refer to " information war ". Western mass-media are not absolutely pure, give not the true information, in particular the Air Forces, therefore it is not necessary to accuse the Russian Federation of all sins at once. The picture which was drawn with the western mass-media, essentially differed from the validity.

I do not work to the Kremlin, or on Putin as many European mass-media can think. I the simple inhabitant, and this my opinion. Sorry for my English.

The truth? From Russia?
Look, nobody in Russia got objective news, because in Russia there is no objective news. So a guy gets on his computer and reports the truth from his Moscow bedroom?

Give me a break. Was he in Tskhinvali? Then what does he know? What did he see with his own eyes? People in Tskhinvali know they were bombed, but nobody knows exactly where ALL those bombs came from. Could they have been bombed by Russia when it launched an offensive to push the Georgians out of Tskhinvali? They were hiding in basements.

I'm sick of anti-Bush people suddenly being pro-Putin because the equation is so simple Bush=bad, so everything against Bush is good. Does anybody remember what Putin did in Chechnya? Do you know anything about Russian history?

The truth is both sides are lying about the war. What most people agree upon is that Georgia was baited, over-reacted, as it usually does, and paid the price. But this crap about Georgians committing genocide is bunk. As is the number of 2000 dead Ossetian people. That number was invented before anybody had a chance to count. When the Russian MoD finally counted, there were 167 dead, a tragedy, but not 2000.

What is true is that the Ossetians ethnically cleansed entire Georgian villages, which were looted and burned to the ground. I saw them burning. I have friends who cannot return home.

I suggest anybody the least bit interested in the truth, do a little more digging beyond what Russia Today broadcasts. Russia Today makes Fox news look like PBS. Read a little history. Understand why Russia issued passports to Georgian citizens in the first place.

Read Anna Politkovskaya - she knew enough truth to earn a bullet in the head.
