US supports the overthrow of a democratic government

Yes, Virginia...the US government is NOT exporting Democracy to Honduras. It looks like the US government wants to continue to support the capitalist Robber Class and their exploitation of the South American people. Check it out here.

Where's the change? Why is the School of the America's still being supported by Obama and the Republicrats? What will it take to effect real change and real democracy in our own country?

First, we're not a "democracy"; we're a constitutional republic. Everything else you say is discredited by this fundamental misunderstanding.

Second, so is Honduras. And support for your fellow traveler on the socialist Left is not sufficient reason to discard their equivalent of the 22nd Amendment.

And third, the "exploitation of the South American people" by the "capitalist Robber Class" is certainly no more scandalous than President Barry's continuing exploitation of the stupid.

James Young...we have serious disagreemnets you and I.

President Bush listed democracy as a major export and a major goal for invading Iraq. As you should know, I'm not drawing the concept of exporting democracy out of thin air.

Instead you prefer to ignore the major points and sidetrack in order to decrease any influence for an opinion other than yours. I have found numerous right wing extremists utilize this tactic.

Sorry I won't play your game. I also refuse to support what is supposed to be "our" government's influence in dismantling a democratically elected government of Honduras and replacing it with a dictatorship to further the interests of the rich and the powerful to exploit others.

Your second comment merits no reply. It is stupid and insulting and it appears you prefer to act like a bully to other folks.

Hondura's actions in removing their President was within the context of THEIR constitution. The democracy lovers won. The former President was trying to subvert the election for an illegal term.

Why is it that you only support "democracy" when it is being supported by dictators for life? Contrary to what you believe, Obama is not supporting the Honduran government but is courting Zelaya, Chavez, and Castro. That's the problem.
Zelaya was arrested on order their Supreme Court and under the authority of their Congress and Constitution. A member of his OWN party replaced him.
Here's a counterpoint of your communist link:

I wish you were correct Cargosquid but Obama's government has not seriously taken any action to support Zelaya. Zelaya is the democratically elected leader of Honduras...

Obama's admin appears to be all talk and no action backing up his talk. No action that would pressure the military coup leaders to step down and restore the people's leader in Honduras. Heck, the SOA is still training the Honduran military. This is the training that has been used to repress people in South America for decades....

Zelaya was removed legally for trying to get an unconstitutional 3rd term. He may have been democratically elected, but that does not trump the law. Honduras in a Republic. And it seems that they follow THEIR Constitution, unlike our Representatives. Would you be so forgiving of their leader if, instead of a leftist President seeking to overturn their Constitution, their democratically elected President was more to the right?
