This is for Rocinante's Burdens

I couldn't find a way to comment on your Allen vs. Webb piece so I'm blogging this just for you.

After reading your post I believe this video is a must see for you. The video you want is titled "This is Absurd."

Expect more spin and dirt. After, all Senator Allen who pledges a "clean" campaign hired the original swiftboater to run his.

If you are looking for a candidate who runs on the issues you need to take a good long look at Jim Webb. I support Webb because of his character, his experience, and after lots of research.

I refuse to support George Allen because I know him. He prefers to support the corporate elite instead of me. He prefers to divide people not unite them. The disastrous War in Iraq, Rising Gas Prices (which will rise again after the election), and war profiteering are not in my best interests. Staying the course and allowing incompetents to continue to run the show with no accountability is not good government policy. Neing a rubber stamp for George Bush is bankrupting America.

Forget the labels, forget the party nonsense...Vote for the best candidate who will represent the interests of most Americans not a few wealthy elitists.

Buzz...Buzz...

If you had sent me a note, or posted a comment on my site, I would have known this was here sooner.

...hired the original swiftboater to run his...

Swiftboat is not a pejorative term in my lexicon. The swiftboat veterans against Kerry were (like Webb) patriots who had personal unfavorable experiences with Kerry. Kerry made his Vietnam experience a central issue of his campaign. Telling the truth about it is not negative.

He prefers to support the corporate elite instead of me... Sounds like class envy. Grow up. Communism failed. Success in business is good. The corporate elite in this country are doing more good for humanity than all of the democratic senators put together.

He prefers to divide people not unite them. This is just inane bumper sticker stuff. What has he done to divide? How is Webb different? Since most Americans disagree with each other about almost everything, why is dividing bad?

The disastrous War in Iraq...
What makes it a disaster? Lots of worthy goals in human history have been difficult. Operations in Iraq are no different. The enemy is tenacious and adaptive, and so are we (well, at least ½ of us).

...Rising Gas Prices (which will rise again after the election)..., Supply and demand works that way, no matter who wins this election. If you want lower prices, get congress to stop restricting the supply. Demand is going up, deal with it.

... and war profiteering are not in my best interests....

More slander. Our government buys stuff, in war and peace, the people who make that stuff make a profit. The navy is buying new ships this year that will never be used in Iraq. The shipyards that will build them will do so at a profit. So will Staples, when they deliver office supplies to the Pentagon. Webb will do nothing to change that. ASK HIM.

Staying the course and allowing incompetents to continue to run the show with no accountability is not good government policy.

I reject your premise. Who are the "incompetents"? The hundreds of generals and millions of military professionals? The Congress (almost 1/2 democrat)? The State Department (full of Clinton hold-overs in high places)? What makes you think you will get anyone better as a result of electing ONE senator instead of another? No accountability? What do you think elections are? What do you think all those spending bills passed by congress (with major democrat party help) are?

The war in Iraq is being conducted the best that it can be. No change in one Senate race will change that. A total change to Democratic control will only make things in Iraq worse.

Neing a rubber stamp for George Bush is bankrupting America.

More slander. When someone ideologically agrees with you, calling them a "rubber stamp" is a bit over the top. It is understood that every democratic senator (including Webb) will be a "rubber stamp" for the Democratic party leadership.

As I said in my previous Allen Vs Webb post, not being the other party is not good enough. Yet, that is really all you have put forth as reasons to vote for Webb.

If you still intend to convince me that Webb is worthy of my vote, skip the Bush-hate and tell me what Webb will do if he gets elected that will be better for America than what Allen would do. Set aside the character assassination and talk to me about legislative agenda.
