Bush is on another vacation

President George W. Bush went to his Crawford Texas ranch yesterday to take one of his famous "working" vacation breaks.

Of course the White House statement is that he went to his Crawford ranch to "think" about Iraq....probably while riding one of his mountain bikes and resting up from his Christmas festivities to prepare for his New Year's celebration....

Meanwhile our troops are stuck in Iraq...and if Bush has his way they will stay stuck in Iraq.

According to the polls the majority of the American people, the Iraqi people, and the troops stationed in Iraq want the troops to come home. I haven't seen a single poll that says otherwise.

Lobby your elected official on January 3 and 4th in person, or with emails and phone calls. Remind them that only 11% of Americans now support the Iraq war. The rest of us want them to come home asap. No surge...let's do the right thing...Honor the wishes of the Middle Eastern people; they want freedom from the United States. The Time to Withdraw is long past due.

Well done, buzz champion! No "surge," absolutely not....I'm even starting to hate that word...it's such a lame idea. I liked your previous post, too, about Virgil Goode. Thanks for the link to the Baltimore Sun about that....You're a great insect.

LOL...I wish I had the time off that Bush has....He's the most vacationing President in history.

Which reminds me...Do you still believe that Bush "vacations" like other presidentshave in the past...i.e. taking care of business while they vacation?

Let me remind you that in August right before 9-11 the FBI (or CIA...I don't remember which agency) was so alarmed that their was going to be an impending attack that they sent someone down to Crawford Texas to brief the President. After the briefing, President Bush basically commented the agent had now covered his ass and then proceeded on his merry vacation without doing anything. (He went on vacation even though a report had just been issued that was titled Bin Laden determined to attack the United States...and it reported the attack was imminent.)

ALL of his folks were on vacation pre-Katrina and none of them cut their vacation short due to the impending disaster...

Si I think Bush vacations like most of us never will...without a thought to anything but his own little wants and needs.

Buzz...Buzz...

pardon the grammatical errors and typos in the above comment.

LOL, I never even thought that President Bush vacationed as I did....we can start with the "private" jet, helicopter transportation and the "escorted" limo service....private chefs, etc...at no expense to "moi." Plus the nearby private second home, exclusively for the President's use--Camp David. Yes there will be disadvantages as far as traveling freelyand in public (as in any situation) but that's something all Presidents encounter and so it's not a "surprise" or a very large deterrent for the office seekers.

Maybe we'll need to review our sources on this...why else would an agent be "forced" to have to "interrupt" the president's vacation. I don't get the impression that Presidents are interrupted (esp. when they are traveling or on vacation because of a report that was issued weeks before....and surely there wouldn't have been an interruption for an old report claiming no imminent atttacks.

Bush's job performance has been so bad I'm wondering if it makes a difference if he's on the job or "off."

P.S. I notice you don't mention the Katrina example....in the past Presidents have cut short a visit (much less a vacation for things like Katrina)...wouldn't you say?
