Fact Checking Bush's Katrina History

George Bush continues to throw out fiction to explain his responses to Katrina.

However the truth is coming out....unfortunately the corporate media is not going to make the truth easily accessible to their consumers. Truth doesn't help promote the corporate agenda in this country.

It's up to the people to re-search and re-search again. We need public spaces and soapboxes. We need a genuine, true public media platform in this country so the people's voices will be heard.

When did American Presidents beome Kings?

George Bush is openly admitting he authorized waterboarding. Waterboarding is torture. So why doesn't George Bush get his day in court? It's now a proven fact, by his own admission, that he violated international law. He not only committed the crime he's going around bragging about it.

Shame on Eric Holder for not doing his job!!

US Presidents promote war not peace....

Our latest President--Barack Obama--seems to have the same war agenda as George Bush.

Why do American's allow our tax dollars to be used to kill people worldwide so that corporations can increase their profits?

A Murder to Protect Rove and Bush?

Why wasn't Michael Connell placed in protective custody? This was the man who allegedly knew where the bodies were buried to insure Bush could steal the elections and make it into the White House 2x.

Rove, Cheney, and Bush are feverishly rewriting history. If there is any justice in America these three crooks and other leaders in the Bush administration will be held to account in a court of law for numerous charges ranging from war crimes to stealing our national elections.

Another Bush Corporate Media Myth Exposed

The corporate media has done an outstanding job of limiting debate and options available to the American people. The corporate propaganda promotes the myth that the US media is liberal.
The actual bias is "corporate control" not liberal theology.

How angry would the American people be with George Bush and the corporations of America if it was well known that we could have deposed Saddam Hussein without an invasion, no loss of life, and without bankrupting America. The truth? Saddam Hussein offered to leave Iraq weeks before Bush invaded Iraq and this has been "KNOWN" all along and NOT been reported. A few reports have emerged in the US over the years but the media refused to report it consistently....so the story has not become well known.

Doubt what I say? Then check out the multiple sources here.

Bush and the corporate media and their cronies lie to America and they have made huge profits from this.

Seems to me we need some new laws and regulations. What if..

No One could Profit from War. Corporations like to say they have the same "rights" as people (which I still dispute.) How about corporations have to be liable and responsible for their actions just like everyone else. Therefore, anything defense related has to be done at cost...actual costs NOT inflated costs. Corporate officers and top management should be prosecuted for any criminal decisions and activities that they participate in. Corporate decisions and policies should have a paper trail that can be accessed by regulatory authorities.

Media Corporations have to replace their fake news programs with citizen journalists chosen by local communities and regional communities that they serve. We will always have a need for sound local news reporting.

We should also realize that there are other areas where profit should not be allowed. I'm thinking clean air and clean water....these are basic human rights and corporations are currently trying to buy up the world's water. In fact, our nations banks are currently engaged in trying to purchase water rights in their unquenchable greed...the unquenchable greed that has currently landed us into our current economic predicament.

Shouldn't our Justice System go after the evildoers "especially" if they were the leaders making the biggest profits from this mess we are in? It's not about revenge it's about deterrence. We need to put an end to folks profiting from lying, stealing, torturing and killing for profits and/or power. The big fish should not be let off the hook if our justice system is going to be set right.

I remain hopeful that some on the extreme right are not lost in their Kool-Aid addiction and they will start to question many of the myths they currently swallow and will join the rest of the grassroots as we put the pressure on all our elected officials to serve our nation honorably,

Republican Team Maverick Exposed

I think it can only happen in today's Republican Socialist Party. The Republicans actually believe their candidate can be a "maverick" when his campaign is run by Bush-Rove Operatives?

McCain endorses Bush to make this a better place

Just look at the record (not the lying spin) and realize it comes down to this....

Are you better off now than you were 8 years ago? If so you may want to keep the Bush/Cheney policies and you will vote for McCain/Palin Republican Ticket.
\
If you aren't better off and want change than you will vote for an alternative change agent....Barack Obama the Democratic Candidate, Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party, or Ralph Nader (Independent) are my top three choices for a change agent.

You can go here to get a complete list of third party candidates to choose from.

The Commander in Chief Test

I didn't think it was possible that the Republicans would choose a candidate who makes George Bush look intelligent and who is willing to campaign in the dirty Rove style--the do anything approach to obtain the Presidency.

It's amazing that the Lamestream Corporate Press ignores McCain's amazingly numerous stupid statements and his record of corruption and incompetence. (i.e. the Keating Five and crashing 4 airplanes during his military career....his last crash landed him in the Hanoi Hilton.)

Thank heavens for YOU Tube so that McCain's numerous lies and flip flops are documented.

The BIG question is....why isn't the news media reporting on the issues of importance and the Candidates positions on these issues to the American people? Instead this presidential election is being covered like it's just one big game show and the "weirdest, wildest, most unbalanced" contestant gets handled with kid gloves for ratings and profits.

Bush's Rubber Stamp in Virginia Beach

Thelma Drake is so predictable. Once again she is going to vote against the constitution she swore to protect and she will vote to shred the checks and balances our founders set up.

Thelma Drake SUPPORTS immunity for the telecommunications corporations who "allegedly" agreed to break the law and illegally wiretap Americans.

The telecom immunity will prevent Americans from having their rightful day in court. It prevents our judicial system from doing their job.

The corporate lobbyists and republican right wing extremists will say that the corporations are "patriotic" and are innocent.

These so-called "patriotic" corporations stopped the surveillance when the Bush administration got behind on their payments for this service. So much for the patriotism argument.

Innocent? I believe they are guilty. I believe they KNEW they were breaking the law. IF the telecommunication corporations are so "innocent" why are they spending so much money to lobby Congress for immunity?

The telecommunications immunity does not serve the public's interests. It serves the interests of corporations and Bush and Cheney. It enables Bush and Cheney to escape accountability.

Thelma Drake has consistently voted AGAINST holding the Bush administration accountable.
Thelma Drake continues to exhibit an inability to change course...Hopefully the people of Virginia Beach will vote their interests this election and oust Thelma Drake from the House.

US General states Bush WH Committed War Crimes

According to retired U.S. Major General Antonia Taguba, "There is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes. The only question is whether those who ordered torture will be held to account." (Source)

No wonder George Bush is enjoying his world tour at the U.S. taxpayers expense. He maybe restricted to the USA if he wants to avoid prosecution for war crimes.

Questions for Bush, Cheney and US

Yesterday Dick Cheney said invading Iraq was the right thing to do and he is not bothered that over 70% of the US population disagrees with him. George Bush continues to say that invading Iraq to take Saddam Hussein out of power was an intelligent move.

Why hasn't the corporate media called these buffoons are their lies?

Remember back to the day of the invasion. Some of us were able to be glued to the television coverage before the bombing began. It was reported that a few hours BEFORE the invasion, Saddam Hussein offered to step down and go into exile with his sons and family. The Bush Cheney cabal basically said Saddam's offer was "too late" and they invaded Iraq anyway at the cost of over 1 million lives of innocent Iraqi civilians, US military casualties, and untold numbers of wounded soldiers and civilians.

This 3 trillion dollar war that has wrecked so many lives and the US economy, and created the largest humanitarian crisis in the world today, was easily avoided. We did NOT have to illegally invade Iraq to oust Saddam from power and continue monitoring and searching for WMD.

Why did we invade Iraq? This question remains unanswered to this day.

How can anyone forget that Saddam Hussein OFFERED to go into exile right before the invasion? Why haven't Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice been asked WHY they did not accept Hussein's offer to leave Iraq and continue with their illegal, immoral invasion?

Why haven't all of these war profiteering criminals been impeached?

Now that you know (or remember) that Saddam Hussein offered to leave Iraq BEFORE we invaded...what do you think should be done about the reckless, immoral actions of our Bush administration to continue with their plan to invade Iraq?

Is Hillary Clinton a Chickenhawk too?

It appears that Hillary Clinton is attempting to outflank George Bush by going to his right (if that is possible) when it comes to Iran.

Heaven help us if "this" woman becomes America's first example of what a woman President is able to do.

Virginia's House Representatives Need to get off the Fence

First I want to THANK Rep. Jim Moran for agreeing to co-sponsor an impeachment resolution.

Then I want to CHALLENGE my Representative, Bobby Scott, to get off the fence. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines. Rep. Wexlar, had the decency to poll his constituents and now he's supporting Impeachment. Another Virginia Representative is supporting impeachment. Does Bobby Scott really believe that Bush and Cheney have not committed crimes that are impeachable?

There is NOTHING, NO BILL, NOTHING, more important than establishing that this is a country ruled by law and not a few crude cruel men who can do anything they want, regardless of what the people say.

Here are some facts:

A June 23-26, 2005, ABC/Washington Post poll found 52 percent of Americans believe the Bush administration "deliberately misled the public before the war," a nine-point increase in three months. And 57 percent say the Bush administration "intentionally exaggerated its evidence that pre-war Iraq possessed nuclear, chemical or biological weapons."

A June 27-29, 2005, Zogby poll found 42 percent of Americans say that "if it is found that President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should hold him accountable through impeachment." According to Zogby, in Eastern and Western states supporters of impeachment outnumber opponents.

The 42 percent above is significantly higher than the 27 percent of Americans who favored impeachment of President Clinton before impeachment proceedings began in 1998. (NOTE: this is an old poll...the percentage is now believed to be higher especially since the study was released this week proving that Bush, Cheney et al lied hundreds of times to lead us into an illegal invasion.)

If there was ever a reason to impeach it is now. Our founding fathers gave us the tools we needed to protect our constitution and preserve our democracy. Our elected officials, in failing to use the tools they have at their disposal, are becoming accessories to the war crimes and the dismantling of our democracy and our rule of law.

Some cry that it's too late. Try using that defense in court. It's bogus. It's not too late to restore the rule of law to our land. We need to know once and for all if Bush and Cheney are guilty or not guilty of impeachable crimes. I want to know if Bush and Cheney, as Washington "insider" talk goes, started their illegal activities such as the surveillance program BEFORE 9/11 occurred. Allegedly that's one of the reasons Bush is so adamant that telecommunications get retroactive immunity.

Contact your representative asap. Ask them to take a stand---Do they support impeachment, or would they rather defend the position that there is no reason to start impeachment hearings against Bush and Cheney?

The Democrats have been whining about how that mean ole President Bush is using his veto to get his way....while they hope this will get them more votes in 2008....Pelosi and Reid believe it's to their benefit to protect Bush and Cheney. They mistakenly believe that playing politics is going to GOTV. Every day the Congressional Dems sit on the fence gives their base, their major supporters more reason to sit in our homes come the November elections. I'm not going out to vote for the Democratic nominee if the Democrats won't uphold their congressional oaths to defend the constitution!!

It's never too late to stop playing politics and do the right thing. This is the time to take a stand right now. On January 29th, Dennis Kucinich will re-introduce impeachment. Get off the fence and support it or defend your stand that there's no reason to impeach. But get off the fence!! We didn't elect you to do nothing.

THE QUESTION THAT MUST BE ASKED TONIGHT

According to Newsweek, Bush plans to negotiate with Iraq to make a pact that will obligate the United States to remain in Iraq for another 10-12 years. Democracy Now reports today that the Iraqi prime minister stated that Iran will need the United States to keep their military forces in Iran until 2018 or 2020.

The corporate media-ocrity will be negligent if they don't ask the Democratic Candidates how they will be able to bring our troops home if Bush signs this pact with Iraq.

Bush Misleading us again--Edited Iran gunboat video

Over at Buzzflash, Kristinea Borgeeson reports, "the highly provocative audio of mysterious provenance" is missing from the raw footage of the incident that the Pentagon released. This only highlights the manipulative and deceitful Bush Regime propaganda being put out by the Pentagon. Isn't there a law against this?

Of course, Bush rushed to use this videotape to facilitate Dick Cheney's continued quest to invade Iran. A long time Cheney operative, Stephen Hadley warns us that, "
"It could have—and came very close to—resulting in an altercation between our forces and their forces," he said, "They’ve got to be very careful about this, because if it happens again, they are going to bear the consequences of that incident."

The trail of propaganda videotape, statements by the Bush regime point out that the "peace part" of the president's current Middle East mission is only a ruse. What Bush and Cheney want is to start another war with Iran.

Why is it that Pelosi and Reid continue to play "The Deciders" against the wishes of the majority of Americans to tie these two up in impeachment proceedings so they can do no more harm until a new president is in the White House?

BUSH'S OILY ROLE IN IRAN ARMS DEAL

Like Father Like Son--It appears that W comes by "dishonesty" honesty. Tje Bush Sr's foreign policy also drove oil prices higher and they both illegally circumvented the Congress of the United States and defied our constitution checks and balances. So many atrocities have been committed in their pursuit to raise oil prices...(My emphasis is in bold.)

Read it here in a reprint of a Top Ten Censored Story of 1987

Vice President George Bush's acknowledged support for theill-fated secret arms shipments to Iran has been interpreted asevidence of his loyalty to the policies of President Reagan. Now, however,
other evidence suggests that Bush, far more than President Reagan, promoted the Iran initiative, took part in key negotiations, and conferred upon Oliver North the secret powers necessary to carry it out.
It also has been charged that Bush actively promoted the Iran
arms sales because of an economic motive the president did not share -- the desire to stabilize the dropping oil prices in 1986.

Peter Dale Scott, co-author of THE IRAN CONTRA CONNECTION and
former senior fellow at the International Center for Development
Policy in Washington, suggests that Bush's primary concern in early
1986 was to stabilize falling crude oil prices by promoting a common
price policy between the United States and the oil producers of the
Persian Gulf, including, above all, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Further, Scott says,
the interest in higher oil prices was an
explicit goal in some of Oliver North's secret arms negotiations with the Iranians. The price of oil reflected the concerns of Bush, a former Texas oilman, rather than of Reagan, a free market advocate.

Scott traces Bush's involvement back to the January 17, 1986,
meeting of the president's national security advisers at which the
president signed the controversial finding which authorized the arms
sales. The meeting was attended only by Bush and three other known
supporters of the arms sales intiative -- Chief of Staff Donald
Regan, National Security Adviser John Poindexter, and Poindexter's
deputy Donald Fortier.

As the Iran-Contra Select Committee Report points out, Secretary
of State George Schultz and Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger
were deliberately kept in the dark about the trip North took with
Robert McFarlane to Tehran three months later. Yet Bush not only knew
of the trip but he helped in scheduling it. In a little-noticed
message of Aril 4, 1986, Poindexter told North that, "If we can manage
it, the VP would appreciate it if the Iran trip did not take place
until the VP leaves Saudi Arabia. If that screws up planning too much,
then he will uderstand that we can't do it." The request was honored;
the McFarlane-North trip took place a month after Bush returned from
Saudi Arabia.

Bush's mission to Saudi Arabia was to persuade leaders of that
country to help stabilize oil prices then rapidly falling to under $10
a barrel. His trip was successful; Saudi Arabia King Fahd received
the Iranian petroleum minister in the autumn of l986 and the two
countries agreed to OPEC arrangements for boosting oil prices to $18 a
barrel. The $18 price brought economic relief to oil-producing states like Texas which were the key to Bush's political base.

After the arms sale became public, oil industry sources commented
that McFarlane and Poindexter understood the connection between a
strong domestic oil industry and national security better than most
others in the administration.

SOURCE: PACIFIC NEWS SERVICE, 12/21/87, "Bush had oil policy
interest in promoting Iran arms deals," by Peter Dale Scott, pp 1-4.

More than a Quote of the Week

This is the Quote that also applies to the Bush/Cheney Era....

"The impressive thing about the German phenomenon is that one man, who is obviously "possessed," haa infected a whole nation to such an extent that everything is set in motion and has started rolling on its course towards perdition." 388, Vol. 10 of The Collected Works of C.G.Jung

Who in Congress Will Become Accomplices to Bush-Cheney Crimes?

If only we had people running for office that understood Americans as well as Keith Olbermann. The Washington Lieber-crats--Feinstein, and Schumer--better watch out. You are playing with an angry fire when you decide to become accomplices with the criminal and treasonous acts of Bush and Cheney.

We'll see who the real Democrats are in the House when Dennis Kucinich proposes Impeaching Vice President Cheney and in the Senate when the vote for a "protect the Bush/Cheney criminals" attorney general nominee is voted on.

Will any Republicans decide to stand up for the rule of law in our allegedly "democratic" country and stop supporting the madness of Bush and Cheney? Stay tuned we will soon have the answers
