Countering the Propaganda
Propaganda works...that's why the corporate media uses it a lot to promote the interests of the private insurance industry over the interests of the American People. Yep. Propaganda works. As illustrated by this video. Large corporations, such as GE, are supporting the Dem Healthcare. Its small businesses that are against this takeover. Single payer is what Obama wants. He'll take this program as a first step.

Private Insurance companies and their corporate media allies have a primary goal and that is to get rich at your expense.
So go ahead and defend the robber class!!
The government is trying to get "rich" at my expense. They are the ones spending the money of my children. They are the ones that can't fix Medicare/Medicaid, or Soc. Sec. And they want to lie to me and say that they can cut costs and improve my health care? I'm in the VA. I have proof that gov't healthcare sucks. Private ins. companies sell a product. The gov't wants to force us to use their products. Their price is not money, (except in higher taxes) but in more control over my life.
If you haven't noticed, their supposed corporate media allies are supporting the man pushing socialized healthcare. Big corporations like socialized healthcare.
If all the gov't wanted to do was help citizens with catastrophic care, there might be a case, but the govt wants mandate every little possible service that their interest groups want. No private system can compete with a system that does not need to make a profit. No medical system will operate efficiently under the gov't system. You will wait in line and rationing will happen. Services will be denied, regularly. And there will be no way around it. All decisions will have force of law. Suing the gov't is always more expensive and harder than suing a company.
Why can't you see that profit is not evil? Costs go up whenever the government gets involved.
Health care is not a right. Neither is having insurance.
I know that your political philosophy will not let you see that the government is a necessary evil that must be restricted at all costs. The government grows. And when it grows, your freedoms are restricted.
Oh, and I forgot. Why does the White House care about casual conversations and emails that might discuss the health care issue? Where is your suspicion of government now that Obama is in? don't you find it a little over the top that the White House says: "These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."
If this had been W's admin, you would have been screaming bloody murder. The only thing suspicious that I find is that Obama is insisting on Congress voting on this so fast, without discussion. Or reading it.
Just to let you know, the health czar running this program is a corporate stooge:Nancy-Ann Min DeParle, Director of the White House Office for Health Reform. From Michelle Malkin: he served as an investment advisor at JP Morgan Partners, LLC; sat on the board of directors at Boston Scientific Corporation; and held directorships at Accredo Health Group Inc., Triad Hospitals (now part of Community Health Systems), and DaVita Corporation. In all, she sat on at least ten boards while advising JP Morgan and working as managing director at a private equity firm, CCMP Capital.
From 2002 to 2008, while holding all those titles, DeParle also served as a member of the government-chartered Medicare Payment Advisory Committee (MedPAC), an influential panel that advises Congress on what Medicare should cover and at what price. Last month, former MedPAC member DeParle cozily announced that Obama was “open to making recommendations of [MedPAC] mandatory unless opposed by a joint resolution of Congress.”
Obama famously signed an early executive order requiring appointees to pledge not to participate “in any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to any former employer or former clients” for a period of two years from the date of his or her appointment. But it’s hard to imagine any health care reform-related issue that won’t involve one of DeParle’s former employers, clients, and corporate boards in the health care industry. She earned at least $376,000 from Cerner Corporation, for example, which specializes in health information technology. As health czar, DeParle has unmeasured clout in directing $19 billion of federal stimulus money earmarked for, yes, health information technology.

My gracious you are so set to defend the private corporate elitiets who legally kill people for profit that where should I begin?
I will try to post a few videos from folks INSIDE the Insurance Industry who are now EXPOSING the insurance industry for what it is.
BTW, if nothing is done do you seriously think you will be able to afford health insurance for you and your family in the years ahead? Even if you have "cadillac" insurance if you get ill and really need the insurance you may end up bankrupt and then without coverage for your serious illness.
Hopefully you won't have to learn the reality of the current health care system in the USA the hard way.

So, you're basically saying that we need to destroy the insurance industry instead of reform it. We need to adopt the same type of failed health care systems of Canada and Britain, even though most are happy with their insurance. If what we need is just insurance reform, just remove the income restrictions on medicare/medicaid and those can fill in for insurance failures. Instead of draconian 1000+ page bill, just ease the rules we already have.
Of course, we won't be able to pay for it and the rationing will allow people to die THAT way. So, how would you fix it so that we don't get government control over our lifestyles and health care rationing? What do you think is the magic secret? Would we all be safe because the insurance companies are out of business?
Oh, and I forgot. How do you feel about the government collecting information about conversations and emails, and any other info, just because those people oppose the administration. Its illegal for the government to do this. If it was Bush, you would be making a big issue over it. You are supposed to be AGAINST intrusive government, right?

For the record--I am AGAINST any illegal government surveillance no matter who is doing it.
I have not written anything that would the message that I believe it is okay for anyone to illegally wiretap/surveillance on anyone.
Unlike many on the right who had no trouble with these policies when "their guys Bush/Cheney" were doing numerous illegal, outrageous things.
I have written criticism on Obama. In fact I challenge you to review your blog and let me know how many times you criticized Bush/Cheney so we can compare our records? I betcha Mosquito Blog has more criticisms on Obama in his first 8 months in office than you have for the entire 8 years of Bush/Cheney.
That's what I thought, but you did not comment on the video that you posted. That video calls on citizens to contact the White House with links to persons against the health care bill. I'm sure you have objected to Obama. Perhaps more the I did against Bush (not too sure about that, have no way to check). That is why I asked.
That said, do you have a comment about my questions on the health care bill issue above, before my surveillance question?

You wiped out your blog's archives and you don't remember what you have posted to your blog?
If you haven't figured out that I've worked in Health Care and I believe that the single payee option is the best choice for solving our health insurance problems to reduce costs and improve access to health care well it's now spelled out.
I didn't tag alot of earlier posts. I've been post for about two years. I do know that I complained about Bush when he did not toe the conservative line.
Oh, I know that you think single payer is the panacea. I just can't figure out why, since we have examples throughout the industrial world that uses it and the governments are going bankrupt and the people hate it. They all ration care and deny care due to age. None of them are developing new drugs or techniques at the same rate as America.
We need reform, but I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
