The Obama administration has assigned nearly 2,000 federal personnel from the Coast Guard, the Corps of Engineers, the Department of Defense, the Department of Commerce, EPA, NOAA and Department of Interior to deal with the spill -- an impressive response. Still, the current White House is not without fault -- the government should, for example, be requiring a far greater deployment of absorbent booms. Why do the Big Oil Culprits (Bush/Cheney/BP and Big Oil) get away with no accountability and no negative consequences for their actions? When will the Obama administration STOP protecting the big guys and START protecting us?

Hey...the Bush record and history on this is clear and Bush/Cheney are to blame for this. They are the Big Oil Queens for sure.
But Obama is a disgrace to all progressives the way he has continued to promote and protect the Bush/Cheney atrocities with his recent Drill,Baby,Drill mentality and his allowing the elites to escape all accountability. Obama gives the elites a get out of jail card free....
So James...maybe we wouldn't be in this mess if the right wing fringe supporers didn't have such a double standard...i.e. calling out their opponents and holding the other side accountable and never seeing anything wrong with the polticos that they support.
I don't think any of us should blindly support any of our political leaders. Our country would be better off if ALL our elected officials were held to high standards and were called out whenever they lied and/or acted inappropriately.
BP was a HUGE donor to Obama and that oil rig was given a pass in 2009. Bush/Cheney had nothing to do with it.
