Quote for the Day involves Nuclear Reality

"As a physician, I contend that nuclear technology threatens life on our planet with extinction. If present trends continue, the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink will soon be contaminated with enough radioactive pollutants to pose a potential health hazard far greater than any plague humanity has ever experienced." --Dr. Helen Caldicott

Yeah. When did she say this? 1982? Helen Caldicott should change her name to Chicken Little. While I am not a mindless supporter of nuclear energy, neither am I a mindless opponent of it.

There's nothing mindless about opposing the dangerous and dirty nuclear energy. What's mindless is using taxpayer money to fund an industry that private investors won't risk investing in.

Solar is cheaper, cleaner and more sustainable....and solar will continue to get cheaper with each year.

The only reason this is being discussed is b/c our government is currently set up to make laws for folks with the most money. They love having us pay more for stuff than we need to b/c it's more money for them and less money for us.

If we get sick from what they're selling us then they can make more profits when we enter the for profit health care system.

So, if we had a government where legalized bribery was illegal...then we wouldn't even be discussing nuclear energy (or uranium mining and milling in VA).

Solar is cheaper, cleaner and safer....so let's END THE CORPORATE WELFARE!!

If investors want to invest in Nuclear then they should do it WITHOUT THE TAXPAYER BAILOUT!!

I forgot to add...there is nothing mindless about Helen Caldicott. She has the facts to back up her position.

BTW, you really should get help to improve your communication skills. Simply attacking people you disagree with is not nice and it does nothing to improve the quality of public discourse. It just provides distraction so she can try to avoid the many facts you encounter in life that you would prefer to ignore.

But maybe your aim in all this is simply to distract b/c if a public discourse gets going than a few folks aren't going to get rich at the expense of many.
