Virginians Need to Unite to Protect our State

Not only do uranium mining interests want to ravage our state now corporate interests want to "FRACK" up our environment. Virginians need to rise up to protect our state water supply!!

It doesn't matter whether you are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Liberal, Conservative....no one wants their drinking water to be contaminated with flammable substances!

Looks like a Texas company wants to bring Fracking to the Shenandoah region of VA.

Uranium Mining in VA....Setting up an Environmental Disaster in VA

We need a permanent ban on uranium mining in VA..

What was promised....

Bob McDonnell promised to restore voting rights for nonviolent offenders who have served their time. (VA and KY are the only two states that do not restore voting rights when someone has paid their debt to society!)

However, what we got was another set of Jim Crow machinations. Hmmm....let's see 50% of the folks who do NOT have voting rights are African Americans.....Do we see a pattern of racism?

Local folks should be able to shape their own communities. Unfortunately, this is not the current standard. The people of Dendron have won this battle. Let's join them so we can all win the war and each of us, in our own communities, will strengthen our power to act locally and live free.

MoveOn.Org Super Tuesday Party at Croc's

The MoveOn.Org Super Tuesday Party was a rousing success at Croc's last night. MoveOn,Org provided us with free hors d'oeuvre. We stayd until the place closed down.. The wonderful Kay Gore and Dr. D. C. Singh helped put the party together for everyone. Notables such as Susan Mariner, Alma Kessling, Tom Palumbo, Anne Williams, Connie Hannah, Jerry Tenney, John Erb (author of Poisoning of America), Sharon Bivens, and a local Barrack Obama local coordinator were among the many attendees. (Sorry if I missed out on a name....I was enjoying a few margaritas last night.)

A documentary film crew filmed the party and interviewed folks for a MoveOn documentary. I always love talking to film crews since I've had the treat to work on one documentary in the past.

The buzz is out that Barack Obama will be coming to VA soon...so keep your eyes and ears open...you won't want to miss attending a live Barack Obama event. Besides, don't you want to "check out" this Presidential contender for yourself?
