Republicrats
We need campaign finance reform. Until them legalized bribery--lobbying--will continue and all laws from DC will be tainted, corrupt and NOT in the people's interest.
Welcome to the United States of America, INC.

SHAME ON YOU HILLARY

SHAME ON YOU HILLARY....you have fun dividing us? But then that keeps the power with the rich and powerful (You and Bill are enjoying joining their ranks aren't you?) and your special interests lobbying elitists. AIPAC said that they own Hillary Clinton.
SHAME ON THE DEMOCRATS sitting on the sidelines and not speaking out with the truth to counter Hillary's many lies. Quite frankly, I don't know if their is a silent Democrat worth being Obama's Vice President at this point.
I used to think well of John Edwards. But his silence is sad and it won't be long before he's off my list of okay dems.
Barack Obama is the people's choice and he's currently the front runner in spite of media reports and the Democrats deafening silence on this matter. I say to Obama. Don't let them strong arm you into accepting Hillary as your Vice President...she will undermine any substantial change you attempt. IF the Dems won't give you your due then I say that you have the people behind you and the power to run as our independent candidate and you can take out McCain and Hillary with an easy 35-40 percent of the vote. So let Hillary threaten the Dems with a divided Conference. Just stand up now and let the DNC know that if they try to force you out you have a viable alternative--you will run as an independent. (You'd have to do that now so if you have to run as an independent your stalwart volunteers can get you on the ballot of each state. We already know money isn't a problem...Then maybe you could get a great VP....someone like Cynthia McKinney....let MoveON run some Will.I.Am adds on TV and then you could really make history....The first Independent President of the U.S. WOW!!

Vote Today!!
I am an independent; I "prefer" to vote for the best candidate. I am unhappy that in my district (79th) Democrat Johnny Joannou is running unopposed. Quite frankly, I voted for his opponent in the Democratic primary. In my humble opinion, we can do better than Johnny Joannou. He's been in Richmond a long time and I don't see him doing that much. I want a serious representative who actually listens to his constituents....I have never gotten the feeling that Joannou wants to listen to me....he surely doesn't make it easy...his constituents can't even email him with their thoughts. So if I had a choice (and I thought they had a decent platform) I'd most likely be voting against Joannou this year...as it stands I'm not going to vote for Joannou so he will slip in again....Hopefully next election a much better candidate will run for his seat....This is one incumbent that needs to go.
Another incumbent that needs to go is Senator Quayle in the 13th Senate District. Quite frankly I have had it with Senator Quayle and most of the Virginian Republicans. I have heard from constituents that visited with Quayle and though he agreed with them he voted the issue with the way his party wanted him to. In addition Quayle has not only been MIA--missing in action--from representing me in the Senate he's also been MIA during the race. It seems as though Quayle believes that Virginians will always vote for the incumbent no matter what they do or don't do. Well, soon to be MR. Quayle, I have had it with not being able to visit my friend's farm because the King's Highway Bridge remains closed AFTER 10 YEARS...and this is also a major evacuation route for Hampton Roads. Now "MR" Quayle wants to play the blame game and hold the Suffolk City Council responsible for his inability to get the bridge repaired. Funny how we are only hearing about this during his "tight" re-election race. MR Quayle has not done anything to "earn" a return to his Senate seat.
I read a few conservative blogs in VA. They are urging us to They are urging us to think "different." We should think of Virginian Republicans as "different" from George Bush and Dick Cheney. I actually had to LOL when I read this plea. Frankly, it's hard to separate Virginian Republicans from the Bushites. They have been firmly attached to Bush's coattails with Super Glue for a long time. Now that it's a negative the Virginian Republicans cut and run. They cannot even bring themselves to use red for their campaign signs. They are not mentioning they are a Republican unless they have to. BTW, Quayle's signs are blue and they do not mark him as a Republican.....but he definitely is a Republican and he's been toeing the party line up in Richmond.
The word is out that this Senate race between Heretick and Quayle has become a real horse race. I hope so. I even hear that the conservative blogger at Grumpy's Gripes has seen the light. Thank you Grumpy for daring to vote for your community rather than for your party. I am voting for the challenger Democrat Steve Heretick. (The Portsmouth and Suffolk Police organizations are backing Steve Heretick. It's funny that another conservative blogger at Scott's Morning Brew (a Portsmouth policeman) has written nothing on this topic. Maybe he's still trying to make up his mind? Very interesting that he couldn't bring himself to endorse the incumbent--Quayle-- in time to have any effect on this election.
Hopefully, the voters will be too smart and will call these Republicans on what they are doing--Cutting and Running. If you can't run openly with your party's colors and your party's name on your campaign sign then something is seriously wrong.
So I'll be voting for Democrat Steve Heretick...I hope you will give this race some serious thought and then go out and vote.
After all in a healthy democracy we should have some great choices. BUZZ ...BUZZ.....

Surprise--Net Neutrality "violated" once again...
Once again....did you ever doubt the need for net neutrality?
I wish we could "count on" the Democratic Congress to do something right....Silly me I thought net neutrality would have already been passed by this "democratic congress" and they have never even brought it to the floor for a vote.
Makes you wonder...do we even have a second opposition party functioning in America? I swear it's becoming difficult to tell the difference between a Democrat and a Republican these days....especially after that horrendous Lieberman/Kyl amendment was passed with an overwhelming majority in a so-called democratic congress.
Just call me disgusted with all the politicians who have been bought by the corporate elites.

NewsFlash--Did Congress or the General Betray Us?
It is shocking to "discover" that the testimony of General Petraeus was able to testify before two House Committees and two Senate Committees and he was not sworn in for "any" of his testimony.
The Democratic party made a big deal over the issue of the Republican Congress allowing Bush's representatives to testify before Congress without taking the oath. We were assured by the Democratic leaders that this would not occur while they were in charge. True to their word the Democrats insisted on Attorney General Gonzalez taking the oath before he testified.
Senator Leahy (D-VT), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee (which was NOT involved in the Petraeus hearings) held hearings and insisted that Attorney General Gonzalez testify under oath. According to Leahy, "Testimony should be on the record and under oath. That's the formula for true accountability." (Source)
So why did the house committee chairs--Rep. Ike Skelton(House Armed Services) and Rep. Tom Lantos (House Foreign Affairs)-- and the Senate committee chairs--Sen. Joe Biden (Foreign Relations) and Sen. Carl Levin (Armed Forces)--allow General Petraeus to give testimony without being sworn in?
We were promised that the Democratic party would run Congress appropriately. It was the Democrats who criticized the Republicans for allowing testimony while NOT under oath.
Why did the Democrats insist on Attorney General Gonzalez taking the oath before his testimony and NOT General Petraeus?
Maybe the General needs to come back and present his testimony under oath. It might be a good idea to bring his boss--Centcom Chief Admiral Fallon--to the hearings also.

If someone speaks the truth the neocons attack.
Jimmy Carter stated another widely held "truth"...that President Bush is the worst President ever....and now the neocons are attacking him.... Interesting enough they are calling Jimmy Carter "irrelevant" a former president who has continued to inspire many Americans with his work with charities such as Habitat for Humanity. Funny that the white house should call Carter "irrelevant" since that is the term that is often used to refer to Bush whenever he tries to offer an opinion on something these days. Bush's lies have made anything he has to say "irrelevant." Only a few hard core neocon supporters will support anything that Bush or Cheney propose.
Dick Cheney and Rove believe (as evidenced by their defense in the Plamegate trial)..."They aren't liable for anything they say that is false or damages another person's life...."They" are held to a lesser standard than the average citizen in their mindset....this sort of insane logic is what is responsible for turning our sane world upside down. It is up to us to right it and get back to dialogue that is truthful and meaningful.
We all need to insist on truth telling and ACCOUNTABILITY. If the Democratic Congress does not get busy with some serious investigation and hearings with some muscle they are going to make themselves irrelevant.
We the people want the Democratic Congress to stop talking nice and get down to some serious business. Maybe we need to start driving around the capital blasting the Dixie Chicks "Not Ready to Be Nice" out our car windows so that our representatives might get the message....maybe we ought to send this song to them via email? Hmmm....
If Comyn's recent testimony will not rouse the Moderate and Sane Republicans and Democrats in Congress to some serious action then THEY ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED in 2008. If they don't get busy soon I foresee a third party arising. The people are tired of politics as usual.....I know I am. It's time we got our country back on a sane track.

The Incumbent Dems are a HUGE Disappointment
Right now the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer are embracing the Republican's agenda in this lame duck Congress. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Senator Harry Reid doesn't allow the Bush agenda pusher Joseph Lieberman to set the Democratic agenda in the Senate.
Reid says that Gates will be a "shoo-in" for his nomination. So much for the seriousness they are taking for their role of oversight and accountability of the current White House. This appointment should be seriously assessed and take some time to do it...especially given Gates past record with the Iran Contra Scandal. They need to know that they are installing a Secretary of Defense who will stand up to VP Dick Cheney.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is saying he will accommodate continuing to pay for Bush's endless invasion of Iraq and will even go along with temporarily increasing troop numbers.
Texas Democrat Jim Hightower hit the nail on the head when he stated so long ago that it would be nice to have two parties in Washington DC
I believe it's not too soon for concerned Americans to start creating a third party and flushing ALL the incumbent DEMS and REPUBLICANS down the nearest toilet if they continue their business as usual.
I can assure the Dems of one thing....this will be the last victory they will have for a long, long time if they proceed as they have in the past. The grassroots will not give them any more energy or time until they "show us the 'results'!!"
